There's a "judge" in every gen that will say a quote, and that will tell you the range of your IVs. They don't say outright. If he says (a) stat(s) specifically, those stats have perfect IVs.

Well, Mewtwo X isn't that great. Fairies have a fun time setting up on it since there's isn't a whole lot he can do against them.

Let's see you catch it at full health with a starter ball then. I was tempted to soft reset until I had caught it on the first turn. Then again, gen 6 overall has an offensively high catch rate for everything.

I doubt I'll ever recreate the moment of catching Mewtwo on the first turn with a starter ball.

It's sad when Pokemon becomes all about IVs and EVs.

Most I've ever bothered with was EVs, and that was for PokeMMO.

The sad thing is that there really isn't anything better to do in post-game besides breed for IVs and EVs. I was extremely disappointed to find out that the Pokemon World Tournament from Black and White wasn't in X and Y. I'm almost tempted to scrounge some money together just for the PWT.

How long does it take to hatch?

Lack of shit to do post-game is why I normally put the game down once I've beaten it and never play it again. That was the case with Black and Black 2. At least until I decide to play again on another save.

Because fuck catching all the Pokémon and fuck breeding Pokemon for IVs I'm never going to use.

EV's have existed since gen 2.

IV's since the first one.

Meta game didn't pick up till gens 3 and 4.

Gen 6 had slight changes to IV's to account for the new type, but overall the entire system has just become more accessible since there's a pretty big emphasis on online battling/trading.

It all depends on the way you want to play though. You can along all the games without having to worry about IV's and EV's, or even natures.
