Do you know that opening scene in the first Deadpool movie where he talks about having to fondle "someone's" balls to get his own movie? Replace "pullverine" and "movie" with "Heff Vezos" and "job" and that sums up my last six months.

If you can pee into a soda bottle and walk I'm sure the Amazon warehouse team can hook you up with a less then min wage postion.

That's why I'm aiming for an IT position in the same warehouse. I'll still be playing finger footsies with Bezos' balls at the end of the day, but it'll be way better than spending 10 hours pulling and fixing pallets made by people that couldn't give a shit about the safety of who has to move them.

Unsolicited update time!

I am married. We live in a house. We don't like it, so we are going to move to a nicer (new) house. We have a cat, he is very stupid and adorable. I still work as a software engineer. I still love baking and can now make great snickerdoodles and red velvet cake. I haven't watched anime in almost 4 years, but not because I quit it, just kind of fell off. I got pulled into board games and they're really fun, I have a group I play with regularly. (Well, less regularly than if Covid wasn't an issue.)

It was pretty interesting to read everyone's updates from the past few years... it's what inspired me to write mine. Glad to hear many of you are doing well. To those who aren't, I hope it gets better!

Hey, apparently I’m on the twelve year train.

I have been through a lot in the years I’ve been gone. A lot of relationship drama, a few moves across the country and back, NY > UT > NC > NY, changed careers completely into food service, which is now my big boy job, almost died in a car wreck where I broke my femur and shattered my hip, and now I’m settle back into being able to work again in the last week.

During Covid I traveled the entire east coast back packing, star watching, camping, canyoneering, and rock climbing, and hiking; really got back to my outdoor roots. It’s weird that I kinda miss that freedom. I’ve been a transient without a permanent place for about six months now. I’m finally settling back into a schedule of sorts and a permanent place. At least for a while.

It’s crazy that all of the pervs on this site used to be so close to me and we’ve now scattered ourselves to the wind. I only really talk to one person from here even semi-regularly and it is slightly irritating that I let it get this far away from me. I log in to check up about twice a year just to see the degradation and progression. It’s funny how years away from it all affect your mind. I see PMs are going to be a thing of the past, but before they do, if anyone wants to reach out and connect, PM me.

I guess I'll do a quick update.

I ended up getting engaged some time ago, but that has since been broken off. I had moved away with said person too but had moved back home last year.

Had covid and that rocked my shit for a while.
Been working as a tech at a few eye clinics and do streaming and tournaments on the side now too.

Still draw but no where near as much as I used to, but Im also trying to get some projects off the ground too.


So basically very busy and fairly miserable, but what can ya do.

Man 10 years ago this place showed me some great things and I mean I only came for the free doujins but ended up finding a lot of friends here.

Can't say much has changed from back then, still starting projects and dropping them after a short burst of inspiration, honestly I can't find anything I actually want to do in life, kind of just living atm nothing too special happening outside of work.

Good to see a lot of old faces posting in this thread, although no one probably knows who I am, huge lurker.

Despite the monotonous lifestyle I am pretty happy, cheers everyone after me!

Not much has changed in my life aside from covid making it harder to go places.

quit my job last year because people were dropping like mosquitos in a cloud of deet. got my 5g tracker this year and visited cali recently with my s.o and will be hunting a job again soon so we can move in someplace together within the next year or two. you can usually catch me reading, playing video games, or playing with my dog while my lazy ass enjoys not working for now. i still watch anime once or twice a year, read pole waxing instruction manuals more often (tomgirl is my tag of choice right now, i'm an even more massive gay than when i was shitposting here), but mostly just watch movies when i want to deadbeat in front of a screen. got sucked into mmos with theotaku for the first 3-4 years after i went phantom and was a massive erp prostitute, then switched to vr social games for the last two years before sitting behind a switch screen for way too long.

Still buying physical merch/doujinshis, but like most I dropped anime for the most part. Still reading a shit ton of manga and light novels.
Still haven't returned to grad school and still working a shit job but life is fine besides that. Not giving up, just gonna try different stuff that makes me happier and more fulfilled than working with business programs. Had other minor downs like getting dumped by a girl I met through the fakku discord(lol) almost immediately after getting covid. I also fell into the vtuber rabbit hole.

I have developed a unhealthy obsession with diy electronics [The duckypad is top shelf btw]

I've gotten back into 3d modelling and animation with plans to finally make a new game and re-release all of my older titles.

Other than that.. things are going alright for once.

I work now and that seems to be alright for now.

Wow, it's been 14 years. Joined back in 2007, lurked for a tiny bit, and then eventually put my photoshop skills to work decensoring stuff for the FAKKU Scanlations group in those early days. Edited some releases for other groups that were hosted here on the site in the age before FAKKU went legit. I imagine hardly anyone still here even remembers me.

I kind of fell off forums and online community stuff in general as I exited college, started working more and more, got a house, and other things occupied my life. Currently between jobs because of covid, but life is good overall. I admit, part of me wishes I had stayed active and leaned more into editing so I could have been a part of what FAKKU is doing nowadays haha

Wow... Long time no see, Fakku friends. It really tugs at the heartstrings to read through this post and learn what everybody have been up to since back in the day (though many replies are already years old)! Made me want to follow example and give an update of my own life.

Joined Fakku 12 years ago and was pretty active in the forums for a bunch of years, until I eventually started visiting less and less as other people I knew moved on. Nostalgia + boredom in quarantine made me come here again. Last time I was really active, I believe I was still working towards my BSc in Game Design; made that happen successfully, then went more towards programming, and now I've been working as a software developer for the last 6 years or so (though not in game dev).

I now live in an apartment with my cat. Been struggling with depression for a while, possibly connected to undiagnosed AD(H)D and "high-functioning" ASD that I didn't suspect whatsoever before I got the diagnoses ~2 years ago. Right now trying my best (at least I want to believe I do) to get better. Unfortunately, I feel like I've lost much of the curiosity, interests and motivations I once had, so I'm trying to rediscover those feelings. I still watch some anime (though less than before), play games and whatnot, but mostly just to pass the time rather than due to any enjoyment. Man, this became a bit of a downer... And this freaking plague going on doesn't really help!

Anyway, I still sometimes recall how Fakku was ~10 years ago and all the people I frequently talked with or saw in the forums... It was good times, and I kind of miss it. But I guess life must go on, and I'm at least glad to see how things have worked out for many of the old guard! Would be cool if someone still hanging about here remember me, despite all these years having passed.
