Why do I hate NTR? Because I've been in relationships before. Been cheated on once out of all the relationships. Lost a woman I was in love with not because someone NTRed me, but because of other (financial/economic) reasons.

I generally don't feel motivated to use NTR material. I'll sometimes read it if it's well written for the same reason a person reads tragic romance novels. Regardless, it isn't usually a great time. I was once cheated by someone I had been with for six years. FeelsBadMan.
I also tend not to be too crazy about vanilla works either because they often come across as generic and too saccharine for my tastes.
My preference is for... female characters in, ahem, a more dominant role generally, so I'm probably too beta to really "get" the NTR mindset. Even so, I definitely advocate support for the NTR community and no one should hate on someone else for their personal sexual fantasies. That's the real benefit of porn in the first place.

I think the best ones are where the boyfriend / husband believes everything is just perfectly fine and nothing could ever go wrong or where the girl is completely unable to control herself even though she wants to.

I guess what I'm saying is, it's all very personal what we do and don't like but at the same time we're all going to run into a story we don't like despite it having fetishes we like. So we should just live and let live because our favorite genres aren't perfect either.

The point has been made before, but I think NTR causes people to rage because it hits closer to home than things like guro and/or tentacles because you're unlikely to run into that in your real life. Infidelity however is something that takes sex and rips it out of the comfort zone, and most people get confronted with it in some form or other.
The fact that the genre is so broad makes it inaccessible for most people I think. People are turned off because they ("accidentally") read a hardcore book and got traumatized. There are other titles in the genre that could be appreciated by a lot more folks.

I've had time to throw myself into the black pit that is hentai so not much really fazes me anymore, however I like that fiction has an impact on me in whatever way, and expands my views, character and mindset.
