Yes, I hear that Japan will ban loli...

Ishihara Shintaro, the Governor of Tokyo suggest to ban all of thing about loli or underage porn. Including doujin, manga, anime, and the game of it.

Lots of famous mangaka including some famous one like Tetsuya Chiba and Go Nagai refuse it, because they said it'll hold them to make their manga freely.

When some people ask about this to one of Japan's Underage Gravure Idol she said "Well, I don't care to wear something like bikini because me myself want it"

Even the mother of the idol said that they're agreed.

Why the hell Japan, the creator of Loli want to banned it if no one really care about them and actually like them?!

Opinions gentlemen.

What's the "source" of this information? Where did you hear/read this?

I'd say it's simply 'cause they're getting a lot of flak for it from the western societies, which does induce socio/political tension. They're trying to improve their global image, basically, since over on this side of the pond most folks consider that type of stuff as depraved and immoral.

It makes sense that they want to ban it. Although Im an avid loli fan; it can, in some cases promote CP. And I cant honestly see any benefit for the Japanese government in keeping it. If its not good for them, and they dont like it, then they have no reason not to ban it.

Im not very familiar with the Japanese governmental policies, but Im not necessarily sure that the government can ban it. It may be infringing upon certain expressionary rights that the mangaka have.

Imagine so many good animes will have to be taken away because of this ban...

I has a sad....

If this affects anime or the otaku world (not including anything sexual like) it will cause a huge impact upon the Japanese anime industry and etc..

Well, it will just decrease the money that come for Japan if they really make this one into law though....

The Tokyo municipal government plans to vote on March 30th to amend an ordinance against child pornography to include “non-existent minors”. Much Japanese porn comes in forms that escape rules covering photos and videos: manga; anime (cartoons); and video-games. Existing bans are meant to protect the child victims. “Virtual” porn—where there is no harm to a real person—is illegal in some countries to protect public morals and ensure a safe environment for children. Last month an American court sentenced a man to six months in prison for possession of Japanese manga child pornography.

So it's pretty much official now, but how this will affect manga, anime, and games, that is what I truly wonder. Anyways thanks for the info Yeah321.

Just look at your own responses guys...

It's obvious this will go down the same way prohibition of alcohol went: EPIC FAIL

Shit's just gonna go underground, and when you have no legitimacy, you run the risk of bad quality merchandise or even criminal behaviour, much like alcohol was. Eventually, the government's gonna realize it's not actually harming anybody, and the ban itself was the one doing harm.

Regardless, if you want to find it, it'll be there. The interweb's good like that.

The anime industry is going to take the full brunt of the hit, as they really can't go underground, thought to what extent the removal will be, and the degree of damage remains to be seen.

I think the OTAKUS are now targeting child? rather than mature.

I think there should be ban to some degree...

I think there should be no problem with anime...I mean...it's not child porn...

I find it hard to "ban" anything really. It's already everywhere, I highly doubt that the Japanese government will go around locating and destroying every single piece of loli merchandise that exist. Even harder now, since it can be found all over the internet.

With that said, they can ban it all they want. Someone, somewhere will still be making it. I find it more amusing that no one has said anything about guro. Doesn't it promote extreme violence, rape, torture, etc...?

It is all because of the western goverment guys. After they force to ban on raping games with excuse that after playing that game we will go and rape girl all the way.(remember Rape Lay case?)

Now they also want to ban loli probably with the same excuse after we read the manga we will go rape children all over the world which is utterly nonsense to me.

Your guys thought???

They're just afraid that little children will be abused and stuff...and the problem lies with child gravure idol...It makes children a sexual prey....

Why rapelay and not those guro, tentacles stuff get banned???
It's more extreme in that case (no offence)

Well rape game is already bane isnt it? (only game thought)

maybe it's because of cnn!
