like the title said have you ever been mocked for liking anime and if so how did you deal the experience

personally I've had quite a few experiences in regards to this matter like people telling me you're so old yet you still watch this stuff or like bullying a few years ago in highschool I was bullied though the way I dealt with it turned into a quite a big event in my school because I attacked them with a baseball bat and beat them until they cried and kept saying I'm sorry. I'm not that proud of what I did but enough about me tell me your story or just tell me what you know regarding this topic.

Nope. Some people would just be surprised. Others would be like,"Hey you watch anime too? :D". I remember my 3 year old niece passing by me while I was watching Durarara. She then said that the characters in there are ugly. I cried a little inside.

Nope. But back when I was still new to liking it (Around first year college) I was really insecure about it.

I would have died from ensnarement if someone found out. Let's admit it, there's a lot of weird shit that "Anime lovers" do.

But now I couldn't careless if someone did find out.

I started to get into anime around the time Pokemon hit. I think I was about ten or so. I was the only girl I knew who liked it, so other girls would make fun of me. That wasn't too bad, though. It was the other stuff they picked on me fore that was the problem.

Yes I was mocked, then I let them borrow my Ghost in the Shell movie. It changed their whole opinion. Yep, there are anime for adults, then I said FUCK YOU for mocking me.

Nope. I actually got caught off guard and was quite surprised to find out that one of my co-workers (literally he's a Jamaican gang banger who's been in and out of prison who works as a part time cook with me) liking Naruto. And I was like wtf!?

I have been shocked to find out some unexpected things too. a large amount of girls from my highschool(now probably married or something) have started getting into anime I was like wth is happening and a large ass number of fairy tail quotes started appearing in my news feed on facebook(hard to believe these were the people who mocked and teased me)

At first my fellow friends jokingly shot their sarcastic "praise" about my hobby but as time goes by ,they finally accepted it and eventually they also got into it.

Yeah, my Pops walked in on me watching Trinity Blood and was like "Aren't you too old to be watching cartoons?" and I was like "Says the man who has ThunderCats on VHS"...the conversation was effectively ended. Some people will never get the concept that anime is an accredited genre with subgenres that appeal to everyone.

Yes, but most of the time the opposition melts when you start getting into hentai. Most probbaly because my "bullies" aren't comfortable with what I read.


So it really isn't a problem as long as you stay true to your beliefs that you love anime and hentai.

I only remember it happening once. Some kid overheard me talking about anime and said like "You're a faggot. Who watches anime. You probably masturbate to tentacle porn." To be honest I didn't care and just ignored him, as I usually did anyways. I'm pretty comfortable with saying I watch anime, although I don't flaunt it except maybe online.

I had a similar experience but the present thing was done to me my uncle gave me asian porn for chrismas in front of the family and it was in a wrapper shaped like a dvd box so everyone wanted to see what was inside and my uncle said "you need that espescially when you're at that age(laughs)" and walks away
