[Locked] No quality control at all?!

This is soo frustrating. In my recent order, 4 books out of 7 had horrible creased dustcovers. And this isn't the first time either.

Normally I get about 1/3 creased books, but that's still unacceptable!

I'm not talking about minor creased waves, but brutal (the dustcover looks even worse in daylight):

There's no way I can be this extremely unlucky. I fear that Amazon will ban my account due to too many returns, just because of this (yes that's a thing). Amazon is not to be blamed btw, as I also got this issue from other e-shops.

My Viewer Discretion Advised was creased so badly I sent it back and got another, which turned up worse than the first one. I ended up having to (very) carefully iron it.

This ain't right! We'll start looking into it on our end, obviously not intentional.

wow man that sucks! I don't know if I've been luck or not but I have 10 books with no damage. Could where your ordering them from be the problem?

I'm currently looking in to this for you, we've been heavily monitoring our books related to this issue, statistically it seemed to happen in very few cases (less than 2%) though there have been 2 rare instances out of all our book shipments where it was more rampant where something seemed to happen with assembly.

I'm checking in with these titles for you to see what happened. In the meantime, I've already spoke with @ZachAttack regarding your situation, and if you can email him at zach@fakku.net he'll get you squared away with proper replacements.

Ive also had the same issue with quite a few books, a couple as bad as yours, but a few not so much, from Amazon UK I thought it was a damp issue tbh

Had this issue with Viewer Discretion is Advised, when I exchanged it, it was still creased on the same spot so it's a batch issue.

Hi there everyone (first post!). I didn't realize translated physical volumes were a thing until this prior fall when I began to collect them. Across about 66 volumes I have 6 with noticeably wrinkled covers (though at varying levels of severity). These volumes are: The Job of a Service Committee Member, I'm Rather Fond of You, My Bride is a Demon Lord, Pandemonium, Frisky Fever, and Half-Ripe Cherry.

I had just sorta accepted fate in regards to these being in less than ideal condition....but if replacement jackets are available I would be positively thrilled to get some lol

Also just in the interest of sharing QC issues, I received (and already returned/replaced) a copy of Futabu Mix from Amazon where several pages in the middle had transparency issues -- being able to see the printing on the reverse side of the page quite clearly under normal lighting conditions.

Here's another issue... I'm very happy to have received Heat Alert last week, however, I notice that both the front and back covers are separating pretty badly. Is this intentional? Because even just opening the book and bending the covers back naturally feels like there's additional tension being applied to the split.

So here's the situation with damaged books and refunds:

1. If you purchase a book of ours through a third party, you have to go through that third party for a refund / replacement. I know it can be frustrating and a process, but it's a needed process so that all parties are held responsible for their inventory. Just as if you purchase a book through us and it's damaged we will directly process it for you because it's a product we shipped out to you and need to correct.

2. All our inventory comes in at once, so the inventory that Rightstuf has, the inventory that Amazon has etc all comes from the same inventory that we have in our warehouse. So there are no "different batches" that one store would have but another would not. Out of 150 titles, there has been an instance of 2 where we had a large problem with warped jackets and needed to get a reprint immediately, which resulted from a bad quality shipment. Though that was a few years ago by now (2018). From what we're seeing in our warehouse and the shipments we're sending out, with these titles we're not seeing a problem with the jackets that you received.

There are a few reasons on why this could happen: temperature and how it's shipped can be contributed. How are these vendors mailing them out? Your photo evidence shows there's a problem and you shouldn't have to worry about getting in trouble for a product that arrived damaged to you.

3. Regarding the images in the post above mine, we used to have an additional end sheet with the tip glued to the edge just as Wanimagazine does with their titles, that is how it's supposed to appear because it's quite literally an end sheet with just the tip glued to the edge of the cover. We no longer do that because it's not something readers are used to seeing here and quite often we found people thinking there was an issue with their book so now we just include 1 end sheet unglued at each end of the book. Heat Alert being an exception based on the photos I see there because there's a design on it - so what you're seeing is how the Japanese edition is.

I hope this answers everyone's questions!

Thanks for the reply, good to know that the inner covers are as intended. :)

Hi Brittany,

I still haven't heard from @ZachAttack. I emailed him on Sunday. I understand that you have quite a lot on your hands nowadays, I just wanted to be sure I haven't been forgotten.

Just received my 7 books and half of them were in bad condition. Literally looks like someone soaked them and let them dry. This is the first time it's ever happened to me and I've got like 30 books besides these 7. Half ripe cherry being one of them.

Hey there, so sorry! It went into my Spam folder and I never caught it. Typically sending in a ticket through https://www.fakku.net/contact is actually the best way to contact us for issues like this, but I opted to get an e-mail so I could look into what was happening and send Brittany info pertaining to the damage a little more easily. That was my bad and I apologize for missing your e-mail!

If you wouldn't mind, can you just copy your email and throw it into a support ticket for me? I'll get it right away, in the meantime I'm still going to look into the original email you sent. It's just much easier to track and reply to a ticket.

No worries, its fully understandable as the spam-folder is indeed not so accurate. I have sent a support ticket now.
Thank you for taking a look into this matter.

Hey everyone!

So, we're looking into these issues on a case-by-case basis. If you're experiencing an issue like this and have purchased the books directly from us, please reach out to us here: https://www.fakku.net/contact

If you purchased books from 3rd party sellers, such as Amazon, Rightstuf, Powels, etc., please reach out to them first to see if they're able to resolve the issue for you. If you're running into issues where they won't replace them, please reach out to us here https://www.fakku.net/contact with a description of the problem, pictures of the damage and packaging (if you have it) and we will look into it. I can't say whether we can or will replace your books (it depends on our stock, the damage, and the age of the order, among other things) but we will look into the issue for you and take your feedback to our partners.

I'm only locking this thread so that issues like this come in through the proper support channels from now on as I won't be checking my e-mail for these issues any longer (I've already passed along the images and feedback received) and further posts here rather than tickets won't be answered.
