Misha from Periphery recently did an interview with one of my favorite guitar blogs.

Had a couple of bands pop up on amazon after my recent purchase. Must say these guys are pretty good.

Only a few songs of them out now, but this is quite good if you ask me. Needs to be listened to on high quality.

Keep you ears on TesseracT, people. They're good. Atlanticore seems solid too. Keep discovering!

My friend told me to look up a djent band called Volumes. Pretty good, is it not?

And more Periphery (can't EVER have enough of them...)

That song is like getting kicked in the face with sound.

One of the bands that I dig includes Animals as Leaders, it's one kickass djent band formed by Tosin Abasi

Spoiler:

Meanwhile, check out another Prog Metal band called Blotted Science, they're not necessarily djent but their instrumental riffs sounds pretty similar and their technical prowess are so amazing. They had releases thus far, 'Machinations of Dementia' and their latest EP 'Animation of Entomology' both are excellent albums that I like

Spoiler:

And here's an underground Prog Metal with a sound that could make you got hooked so badly, the name's Sieges Even~

Listen to the album Sophisticated and Uneven, they had quite strong feel of 'djent' here I think~

Spoiler:

===

In short, I don't really listen to much of these genres but I do like some of these names plus Meshuggah and Nevermore~

WAAAAHHHH! I CAN'T BELIEVE I MADE SUCH A THREAD WITHOUT MENTIONING AAL! >A<

I'm so ashamed... ;~;

I don't listen to too much Djent, so I don't know too many bands. Someone already did mention Volumes, but I think i'll post a song from them anyway :3 It's from a different album anyway.
Spoiler:

Progressive on the other hand. Damn, I love it.
I quickly scoured through the thread and found no Opeth! (correct me if I am wrong :3 ) This needs to be fixed.

And maybe some Between the Buried and me
Spoiler:

Just hit me with a hammer if I did something wrong / the music is not along the guidelines.

I'm intrigued by this Djent, I shall research it further.

Not exactly djent (no djent at all actually), but have an extreme feeling of progressive to it.

Rhythm madness starts at 01:25.

Even though this is an old thread, I'm gonna add some Walking Across Jupiter here because I think their music's amazing. It's pretty similar to Cloudkicker, but more atmospheric in my opinion.

And so instrudjent comes in! (Sorry if I necro'd this thread though)

Gru (Artist from Poland. Extremely atmospheric space djent.)
Spoiler:

Widek (Another djent artist from Poland. He also dabbles in atmospheric music like Gru and they often collab)
Spoiler:

Soul Cycle (Extremely great instrumental group. The djent influences are not as strong, but they appear here and there)
Spoiler:

Sithu Aye (I highly recommend this man. Happy djent in a manner similar to AAL, but with more melody)
Spoiler:

Intervals (Another great instrumental djent group from Canada)
Spoiler:

Shades of Black (Djent with mild Arabic influences)
Spoiler:

And lastly, the aptly-named Anup Sastry :)

HOLY SHIT ANOTHER DJENT FAN, WELCOME!

Already a fan of c2, Gru and Sastry, but thanks for the others.

Also, how is Anup Sastry "aptly named"?

The p and S are switched, so it would otherwise be called "Anus Pastry".

I suppose some wouldn't call it apt, but it's those small little details that grab my attention.

... congratulations. You just turned a completely legit Indian name into shit cake. I hope you're happy. :|

Posting with more Sastry on drums:

Oh boy, now I feel kinda bad :(

Some more djent to compensate for my blatant disregard of Indian nomenclature

I am very interested in this genre as a newcomer. First I heard Heart Of A Coward, then Hacktivist, then I heard about Djent. I am still discovering it really but it could well be goldmine for my musical interests. Also Heart of a Coward and Tessaract all play near me in Sheffield, UK soon. Thanks for the recommendations BTW, I will be favoriting this thread and checking them out :)

I have been listening to Periphery lately and it sounded really good, I still don't know what the genre "Djent" stands for or what it is :P but it sounds good. Most of the time I listen to some other stuff xD but since this thread is Djent I won't share them here.

I don't know if my link is Djent music.. I apologize if i made a mistake :<.
