I still text and drive only cause I don't have a new "smartphone" or a one at all honestly, but if I text while I drive I'm always at a red light or sitting in traffic.

As a person who is 20 years old and already has about 150k miles under my belt I cannot even fathom the number of females that where head first into their cellphones that almost crashed into my car. We need hand censors on cars to detect both hands on the wheel, otherwise the engine cuts off.

If I see people on the road texting and driving at the same time I pretty much give them the horn to scare the shit out of them, and hopefully cause them to drive off a cliff.

In regards to driving while talking on the cellphone I see no problem with that, so long as the person has enough driving experience. Even then it should be reserved for needed/important conversations.

First offence: lose a thumb.

Second offence: lose the other hand.

My phone is has a qwerty keyboard so it's too hard to text while driving. Though sometimes I'll make a quick text at a stop light, but the phone is put back down once I start driving.

I do drive while talking on the phone though, though it's a quick phone call, usually someone calling where I'm at, and I let them know, and I'm on my way. Very rarely is it a casual conversation.

I just don't get what's so important that it's worth the risk, but not important enough to call someone. I mean, calling is bad too, but it's safer than texting -.-
