This is not me personally asking for advice, However I am curious to the mindset of people on this forum.

So. How do you deal with negative emotion? What methods do you have to cope? Do you have any special activity that helps you overcome these negative thoughts?

I just hummed to some random music and gritted my teeth hard. Clenching my fist hard helps lots for me.

Or if it's too much i'll just cry alone in my room; keeping it inside does nothing good. :D

I find things that make me laugh. That, or I just pace back and forth for a while. I usually don't experience a lot of negative emotions, to that extent anyways. But yea, for the smaller stuff, I just tend to laugh it off. It's my way of letting them go.

A great variety of things, depending on the situation.

If, for example, I am going through a tough period in life, I read books, I meditate, and I listen to enjoyable music.

If I'm talking to someone that induces some sort of rage or frustration in me, I take deep breaths, count to 10, and shake my head and move on.

If I'm arguing on the internet, I use emotes, which make me smirk, if anything. :P

I talked to a friend of my friends, who is a psychiatrist ( at the Mayo Clinic...yes, that clinic).
He recommended me some books to read, however i do not know what they are called.
( i was not the one to order them)

From what i know, they are based upon CBT ( Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

Alcohol and fighting. If I'm really mad I break out the Gin or vodka.

I keep everything bottled up inside because I'm curious to see what I do when I finally reach my breaking point.

i find things that make me laugh..or just sleep!

I go for walks and tend to smoke a lot when in a bad mood, if I have a sudden fit of rage I guess it depends on the time and place, in a public location I usually just walk away from whatever the source is and go drink copious amounts of coffee and smoke my lungs out, if I'm at home I usually throw a tantrum.

I listen to music and just take some time by myself to calm down.
It's hard though, but sometimes sleeping do you very good.
When you wake up very often the negative emotions are half gone.

Since I smoke, I usually try to get myself a cup of coffee, and then smoke.
But apart from that, raging music helps me a lot!

I sleep. That is the way I usually solve things.

Take walks, hit the punching bag until I'm tired or listen to relaxing music.

I deal with negative emotions by feeling them. There's nothing wrong with feeling pissed off or upset. What I don't do is get so lost in emotion that I let it influence my actions.

yep pretty much this most of the time or :
- sometimes i forget them quickly(my brain is programmed that way)
- i just believe in karma/toka koka(FMA) and think that there's got to be something good coming for me in the future

My main technique for most kinds of trouble is to drown it out with pleasure- however much food, gaming or fapping I have time for at the moment. However...

I'm a very easily angered person. While I'm not the violently angry type, it really controls my thinking. And when I get really angry (something that often happens when I argue on the internet or even with myself), the only thing that really works is humor. Jon Stewart has assuaged much of my rage over the past 3 years.

The truthful answer to this question, as far as I go... is.. well, I don't. Not really. I'm still in survival mode, things get swept into hidden corners before I even realize they've bothered me.

Working on it... but a habit you've had your whole life is hard to break.
