Of course I take them out the box and put them on display. That's the whole point of figures, unless you have two of them and want to sell the other one. In that case it's a good thing to keep it inside.
I just collecting Nendos and keep them in their box in 2-3 weeks and opens it later. I just want to keep it all nice and do what I can to not give it a little scratch.
Mine are safe out of their boxes, the room their in hardly has any sunlight in it cause i cant be bothered to open the curtains as i only use it for sleep and there also in a cupboard and pretty high so they are very much safe there. =)
My comrade[in the office] is an avid collector but he got really fed up collecting the model kits and figures. He said he collected like 28 of those things and he considers them as tombstones to keep reminding him not to collect any more of those things. I wonder if I'll surpass his number of collections before getting fed up but I doubt I will, unless I'm bankrupt.
I keep mine in the box at the moment (only have 2) more for their safety because i dont have a good spot for them as of yet, and sometimes my cat can get kinda jumpy and likes going to high places xD but when i can i want to take em out and put em in a display cace of some sort
I usually take mine out of the box, then keep the box with all the twisties ect in their respective places so I can always put them back carefully should the need arise( (moving around and stoooof).
I was planning to make another thread about this, but I might as well just include this in here cuz it the same question in a way.
What about figures you got as gifts? Do you keep them in the box or put them on display? Since its a gift, if the person who gave me it is at my house often (prob the case) I'd want it out and on display as a symbol of our friendship. So they can see I love the gift and take care of it, keeping it in the box can accomplish the same effect perhaps but in the box I may end up putting it with all the other figures (in boxes) which doesn't make it feel special.
I take all of mine out of the box and have them on display. The most expensive ones I keep in a display cabinet with some rare games I like to display while the other ones are on an open shelf. I dust them frequently and I keep the boxes safely stored in the attic in case I ever need them.
I always take them out on the box since I don't find them attractive in the box. Also, my collection house ain't a shop. As for gifts, well, I didn't receive one so far, but still I'll take them out.
Mine don't ever stay in the box- i hardly ever even keep the boxes. I know that lowers the value but i love all my figures and theyr'e not for sale anyway so it doesn't bother me. All of them live in a glass display unit. My only problem is carefully selecting the figures for my cabinet so I don't run out of space lol
Mine are all out of the box. The comics crash when I was a little kid taught me not to count on anything retaining value, so I like to handle and pose my toys. I mean figures. Figmas.
