Japanese Trading Card Games - Do You Collect and/or Play?

This is my first time creating a front page poll, if I did not remember wrongly, so please give me your support! :D

Over here where I am, I have noticed that Japanese Trading Card Games (TCG), either featuring specific anime series or simply original in nature, are gaining popularity among fans of anime and manga. Based on my observations, the text on most of these trading card games tend to be in Japanese, but english translations have appeared on the internet, allowing users to play these games without any difficulty. Some trading card games have even been released in English.

Of course, I am sure most Fakku members have heard of the "Pokemon TCG" and "Yu-gi-oh". What about the newer games, such as "Lycee", "Chaos TCG", "Weiß Schwarz" and even "Cardfight! Vanguard"? Do you collect any of these cards or even play the game with friends in your local area?

Although I am not an active player of TCG, I do own some Lycee cards, collecting them for their artwork. Here are some blurry images which I took quite a while ago.

To answer the question; I did collect Pokémon but when the new cards came out (like 4 years ago or something) the old ones were useless. So i stopped. Note: I never played a real match of Pokémon i just traded cards.
I think i still have them somewhere.

I also collected this for a while. Stopped too. Don't know why.



And i have never heard of the other TCG. Maybe we have them, i haven't paid too much attention.

I played Weiß Schwarz a little but it's not common so... yeah....

Back in the day I used to collect Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon. But stopped long ago; but I think I still have them some where...

I Play pokemon, just got back into the game not to long ago. its still pretty popular around here too.

None at the moment, but a few years ago, while in elementary school, I was collecting Dragon Ball cards.
I had to stop it, because all the fake shit taking over the real ones. Sad, really.

Same Here. I played MTG game since 1998. but then, i stopped playing it.
since i could not take the prices anymore. damn.
some cards are just to damn expensive if you ask me.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG for sure, I don't collect anymore, but I still play it from time to time.

I've played so many in my time...I really kind of forgot. I do remember playing pokemon the most though, because everyone loved Charizard...

I don't anymore, but I used to be a "casual" Pokémon TCG collector. And by casual, I mean I kept getting the starter packs without realising it and wondered why I got 6 Machamps.

I also played the Pokémon TCG for the GBC religiously until I completed it. That game, as shit as it was, taught me how to play properly.

Duel Masters for me, even thou many people I know treat it like shit......P.S. Coz they don't know how to play it that's why they treat it like shit....Y_Y

I use to collect and play a lot of TCGs back in the day.

Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Magic the Gathering were all some of more popular ones that I used to play an collect.

I haven't really gotten into it since then, but as of recently, I've gotten into trying out a fairly new card game called "Yomi".



Created by David Sirlin, a OG fighting game player, he created this card game based on fighting games. As of right now, I would like to find more people that would like to play it. I find that this game has a lot of potential in being played, and if it had more players, it could become more main-stream.

Gah! Why only japanese? I play dat fucking Magic the Gathering, that's da real shit yo.

Naruto cards anyone ? I counted me having over 200+ of those and I had pokemon cards as well but not as much. that was when I watched Naruto and before I started playing the games . Well that was back in like 2005-7.

I played YU-GI-OH TCG but now I can't play anymore cause my nephews beg me to give my cards to them.... T_T

Magic, I'll never understand how to play....
Yu-Gi-Oh....the only card game that made my childhood competitive and made me develop bonds with other duelist, and i still regularly play....with me and my Blackwings.....

Competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! all the way. So far it's the only TCG that gives me the thrill when in the heat of a good match and was one that I had to study hard to get over its current learning curve.

i remember i collected yu gi oh and pokemon but i prefered yu gi oh it was much better then pokemon
