I guess for Geist UWR, the good all-round side would be this :

2x Anger of the Gods
2x Molten Rain/Sowing Salt (depending on your preference)
1-2x Supreme Verdict/Wrath of God (depending on store meta as well as how many you play in main. WoG is less color intensive than SV as well as stops affinity if they play the jar card that regens target artifact)
1x Rest in Peice
2x Swan Song (comes in handy against Twin and Thoughtseize)
1x Counterflux
2x Aven Minesensor (especially if you don't play Shadow of a Doubt main)
4x - ? Not sure what else to put. Have to think about it and look at the current modern meta to find out. Some generic ideas though for this slot are Spellskite, Coumbust, Ajani Vengant, Elspeth, Knight Erreant, and whatever you feel like you need more of that you don't have enough in main.

I personally like Swan Song, and would play more of them. The bird seems irrelevant if you play Restos, Collonades, and tons o burn, which RWU has a ton of.

I think Supreme Verdict is good enough if you need to bring it in. Cant be countered sometimes is super relevant. Against affinity, I'd imagine Shatterstorm is what you want. Stops Welding Jar.

I also think Stony Silence is pretty necessary since Pod is apparently getting very popular. It's widely considered the best deck right now.

EDIT: I put the Boros Charms back into the Standard Heroic deck I mentioned in the previous page, along with the Steam Vents to help cast it. It's actually a lot more castable than I thought, and truly is better than the fourth Aqueous Form and Bioshift.

Here's the list I'm working with right now:

4 Snapcaster Mage
4 Geist of Saint Traft
1 Restoration Angel

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Helix
3 Electrolyze
4 Path to Exile
4 Remand
2 Spell Snare
2 Mana Leak
1 Sphinx's Revelation
1 Batterskull
2 Cryptic Command

3 Scalding Tarn
1 Arid Mesa
4 Steam Vents
4 Hallowed Fountain
1 Sacred Foundry
2 Tectonic Edge
1 Sulfur Falls
4 Celestial Colonnade
1 Island
1 Plains
1 Mountain
1 Eiganjo Castle

The idea is to replace the Leaks with Vendilion Cliques and the Batterskull with either Thundermaw Hellkite or Stormbreath Dragon (I'm trying both) when they come in. The sideboard is imcomplete but right now it's:

2 Ratchet Bomb
1 Sphinx's Revelation
2 Aven Mindcensor
2 Cyclonic Rift
1 Supreme Verdict
2 Turn//Burn
1 Relic of Progenitus
2 Rest in Peace
2 Wrath of God

I need to pick up Counterflux, Wear//Tear, Engineered Explosives, Combust, Stony Silence, Sowing Salt, Celestial Purge, and Shadow of Doubt. Maybe a Wurmcoil Engine and some Anger of the Gods, too.

I'm uncertain using 4 Geists is needed. I personally do not like having more than one Geist in hand due to me wanting more control of the board before casting him, especially against the likes of Twin where it can win after Turn 3 (when you have the mana to cast Geist).

I personally would remove one Geist and one Electrolyze for the Cliques, this way you can keep the Leaks in and have a bit more control to go onto late game, in where UWR wins the most as well has having the Cliques to flash in on turn 3 against an control opponent over tapping out for Geist on your turn 3.

I'm uncertain about the Snares being Main Board as well, but it's all down to store and player preference. They work in most cases, but you most likely SB them out after Game 2, depending on match up.

I personally never liked Sphinx's Revelation in Modern. In Standard, it's the main card to help you stablize. In Modern, however, it seems way too slow. An aggro deck would stomp you into the ground before you are able to fire one off, a midrange deck would have either made you discard it or gain enough incremental card advantage another way so that it would care less about it, and it will most likely never resolve against a control opponent.

I agree with saka about having four Geists: it seems excessive. However, until you add more creatures to the deck, I think having four is appropriate, so you'll have more threats.

Unless you're truly not worried about Affinity, I would devote more sideboard slots to that matchup. Also, some Anger of the Gods is a an excellent sideboard card. Same with Shadow of Doubt (which I sometimes see in maindecks).

Thank you for your feedback. In most cases I will do my utmost to slam Geist on turn 3 and start the clock as soon as possible, unless my defeat is assured by doing that, such in the case of Eggs, Twin or even Pod. That was my main reasoning for running 4 on the main. I've been happy with the Electrolyzes on the main as a 3-of, considering I had cut 1 down from 4 to make space for the Leaks. Spell Snare on the main, I feel it is too good against many decks: Dark Confidant on BUG, Sakura-Tribe Elder on Scapeshift, Tarmogoyf on Zoo... it also helps me win the counter battles by hitting both Leaks and Remands. As for Revelation... it hasn't had a chance to shine yet, but I guess I should focus on making my deck a little faster.

I'm due for playing on the local tourney on Saturday (it's end of Thursday here, so 1.5 days from now), so for now I will take your feedback and cut 1 Geist and 1 Revelation to add a mainboard Wrath and a Gideon Jura. I've always liked this PW in control decks and hopefully he helps me out. I'll move the 4th Geist to the board and keep the one Revelation in it for another matchup. More to come.

It really depends on preference, I'm just always wary of playing a legend as a four-of. Geist can be an exception, because some control decks will literally have no way to deal with it if it lands early. Still, being flooded with a legend in your hand is a real problem that can occur, which is why I only advocate for three.
Spell Snare I've actually been a big fan of in some metas. Any time I think of a blue deck, I start with four in the main deck. As you mentioned, there's SO many relevant two-drops to counter, and you are able to do so even on the draw.
I still stand by my belief that Sphinx's Rev isn't that great in Modern. Any time you could resolve it, you're probably winning the game by a long shot anyways.

I couldn't make it to the tourney tonight because of all the damn traffic on the way back. Downtown Tokyo is quite unforgiving with its rush hour... =____=

I'll probably have the opportunity to playtest a full version of the deck next week when I get the rest of the cards: I feel like 2 Vendilion Cliques is the right call with my current meta, but I will have a spare one to go up to 3 if need be. I'm paying close attention to Nathan Quintanilla's list with the Keranos and the Ajani Vengeant variant and I'm inclined to try it out. How do you feel about it? It definitely feels less control-y but that seems right up my alley.

Seems interesting enough. I personally like Keranos more in UR Delver or Blue Moon, so in UWR, it seems more out-of-place, but might net you something more interactive over something like Ajani Vengant in an UWR list.

Also, when I get to Japan, I'm always down to come and play in Tokyo. I'll be there in October and will be staying there for 2-3 years.

I have no idea whether Keranos is actually good or not, but I really like it because it's interesting. In theory, it sounds great. It makes the burn plan even more solid. And I just like that God a lot.

I only like Ajani in slower builds of the RWU shell. That seems like the place since it helps to lock down the late game. Otherwise, it just seems like an expensive Lightning Helix. Cus, I imagine you'd otherwise actually want to work up to his ultimate.
That said, I could be very wrong, though. The +1 might be exactly what you want while you're beating down, locking down a land for a while, kinda like Rishadan Port, then having Ajani throw Helixes once they start to get low. I kinda like the idea of that, now that I think about it.

I need to redownload cockatrice again, but I wanna try out a build I thought of for RWU Geist, now that we talked about it. I wanna try Ajani and Keranos now. I actually haven't really tried adding red yet, in general, for this kind of deck. Just WU.

That's pretty dirty, lol. I actually haven't seen that combo among the people I play with who play Slivers. The Queen your Commander? Or do you use Overlord?

Overlord so I can just search for cards I need or want.

My hope is to find a basal sliver so I can pay the cost of Queens minions, than use overlord to find my haste sliver have a bunch of slivers and if by some miracle I can get my legion out Id just hit for ridiculus amounts.

Makes sense. Slivers get pretty insane quickly, though, geez. We're usually annoyed by my friends' Sliver decks unless we're able to kill the right ones (or maybe just all of them) in time. They have plenty of ways to protect 'em, though.

My EDH adventures started with Slivers: Overlord as commander, I had the dirty trick of a certain Ravnica card called 'To Arms!': untap all your creatures, draw a card. That was my 'go off' card combined with the mana and haste slivers.

This created a lot of hate for me in my local scene, so I got tired of being rushed at every game and decided to switch it up with Rafiq of the Many. I thought it would generate less hate, but as it turns out, not everyone enjoys Voltron...

So I came up with the best idea ever: don't win. Seriously, don't have win cons. So I went with Sakashima the Impostor. Make everyone else's wincons your wincon.

Of course, legend rules being what they were back then, it was a great idea: copy commanders without breaking the legend rule, you could defend with better creatures (Doran) or have their effects (Azusa). The rest of the deck was mono blue stealing: Control Magic, Vedalken Shackles, Keiga the Tide Star, Vesuvan Doppelganger, Bribery, Memnarch, Spelljack, Blatant Thievery... I had almost all of them. The rest of the deck was either acceleration (Caged Sun, Extraplanar Lens) or defense/wipes (Nevy's Disk, Oblivion Stone). A lot of politics played. Lots of fun.

There is a lack of Commander play in my area, otherwise I would be building this deck back up, haha.

Still seeing if I should spend my paycheck on either a new EDH deck (either Zedruu or someone in Jund or Grixis Colors) or a new Modern deck (GW hatebears or Mono B Rack).

Decisions, decisions...

EDH Grixis is a beautiful thing because Cruel Ultimatum with Twincast and Fork, plus Snapcaster. I'm all about Thraximundar and Sedris, personally.

No matter what route you take, most of the money would probably go on fetches and lands... #manaba$e

Gross, please don't do Mono-B rack. I begz you... ;_;
Also, if I ever finish my Modern deck, and we ever face off at a GP or something, maybe we'll have an interesting match. And by interesting, I mean, do you draw vial early or not, cus whenever you had it online, you won (which was most games), and whenever you didn't have it, I had more of an edge. Twas still fun though.

I love Grixis. It's my favorite color combination. If I had the cash for another EDH deck, I'd definitely be working on one, probably with the new Dethrone chick from Conspiracy. She's pretty broken.

For sure, though budget options are usually good enough. My Esper deck has no fetches, shocks, duals, or scrylands, just a bunch of goofy paradise lands, and it functions well enough. And, of course, if you build a monocolor Commander deck, or even just two-color, the manabase suddenly becomes nice and cheap. You can afford to play a bunch of basics.

I saw that and pondered how much more annoying they'd become in EDH, because now a bunch of wrath effects don't work anymore.

I caved in and followed the Keranos/Ajani train. Updated decklist:

4 Snapcaster Mage
4 Geist of Saint Traft
1 Restoration Angel
2 Vendilion Clique
1 Stormbreath Dragon

4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Helix
2 Electrolyze
4 Path to Exile
4 Remand
1 Spell Snare
2 Cryptic Command
1 Keranos, God of Storms
1 Ajani Vengeant

4 Scalding Tarn
3 Arid Mesa
3 Steam Vents
3 Hallowed Fountain
1 Sacred Foundry
2 Tectonic Edge
1 Sulfur Falls
4 Celestial Colonnade
1 Island
1 Plains
1 Mountain
1 Eiganjo Castle

Side:
1 Batterskull
2 Aven Mindcensor
1 Wrath of God
1 Relic of Progenitus
1 Engineered Explosives
2 Counterflux
2 Wear // Tear
2 Anger of the Gods
1 Celestial Purge
1 Swan Song
1 Thundermaw Hellkite

In testing, I feel that I have to be a bit more passive/reactive in the first few turns instead of slamming a Geist. But the fact that we are running 4 means that we can slam them with impunity and even block with them if need be. Kept the single SP for the numerous 2-drops I always worry about (with Tarmo, Voice and Confidant on top of that list) and went lower on the Electros to fit Keranos and Ajani also. Ajani's ultimate threat makes everyone pause and think about what they want to do: if the situation is dire and I need to stabilize, I'll use him as a 4-mana Helix until I draw another one (then Snapcaster it). One of the other things to look out for will be whether Stormbreath or Hellkite deserve spots in the main: one is immune to Path and the other one almost guarantees a hit, on top of hitting Cliques and the Swan tokens.

I'm off this Saturday, so I'll be sharing the results of the local weekly tourney after I play. Cheers~
