What is your favorite Shonen?

Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon Ball, FMA and Gintama are my favorites. Rurouni Kenshin is a work of art, Dragon Ball is unforgettable, FMA too... and Gintama is fantastic because beyond the parodies, they make a tribute to all those who really like shonen manga :)

It's funny I'm so bad with titles even though i've been reading manga and watching anime since i was 6 (loved toonami) but I still don't grasp exactly what all manga are encompassed in the shounen genre. However, assuming it's included, i'd say Code Geass due to the fact that it's fairly short but it has an amazing story that actually develops quickly and shows that all bad acts aren't a result of bad intentions. If it's not included I'd say Naruto if you exclude the fillers.

Don't lump GT into my DB and DBZ. I own many posters, all the Dragon Boxes and Dragon Ball DVDs, all the manga, Shonen Jump that has featured DBZ (Cross Epoch and Neko Majin) and I even have a tattoo of Kaio-sama's symbol on my wrist.

There is a difference between Eastern and Western audiences, in Japan Gintama is very successful, always is in the top 10 sales of Shonen Jump... Gintama doesn't make much success here. I love Gintama, will always be among my top 10 favorites animes and mangas.. Some people thinks Gintama is only parodies, but has serious arcs too. [size=10](sorry my poor english)[/h]

From a purely nostalgic point of view, DBZ takes the prize for me(RIP Toonami T_T). As far as exceptional stories go, FMA probably wins. Naruto, Bleach and One Piece are all decent series but they've dragged on for too long and have a hard time keeping new material fresh and interesting. There are lots more i'd like to mention, but i'll just spout out my fav overall and STFU :P
Ushio to Tora is best Shounen overall IMO. The drawing style is a bit rough, but it fits the series well. It has very little filler as well. If you guys are bored or sick of all the current shounen then go take a look at this award-winning classic.
