jmason Curious and Wondering
I can speak English, Filipino (you can call it Tagalog), basic Japanese (I'm not yet done with my Nihongo language class yet), and a bit of Spanish (thanks to my girlfriend).

I can pick up a few words of Mandarin Chinese and Korean, though my accent needs a lot of refinement when I try to speak basic Chinese and Korean. My Chinese co-worker was laughing hard when I tried speaking a sentence of Chinese.

I strive to be a professeur of philosophy, and foregin languages are a great asset, so I'm rather happy.

Ah, and in Europe knowing that many languages doesn't help a bit when looking for a job, unless the job would specifically require that.

1.- Spanish (Native)
2.- English (Not native, but native level)
3.- Japanese (Intermediate)

Japanese is hard for me, since I scarsely study kanjis, so by this point, I can read hiragana and katakana and about 100 different kanjis, but I can barely write them, since I get almost no practice for that part. I have a few japanese friends who I practice the oral part with regularly, as well as having been translator in a few fansub groups, has really helped me in that area.

I want to finish learning the written part of japanese and learn some german.

English.

A stupid language, really. I could not imagine trying to learn it. Hell, well over half of the people born 'speaking' it can't correctly.

Oh well, at least we have words like antidisestablishmenttarianism, which give me a topic to write a paper on.
