What's that carbonated beverage sold in vending machines called?

Well, people around here call it pop...

I've always called it soda. I'm not a fan of saying "pop". It always sounds silly to me.

"Hey, you wanna pop?"

Somehow it just feels strange.

I prefer soda.

As for coke... That one doesn't make sense. I guess if someone is asking you if you want cola it's okay, but not all soda is cola, so using a term like that to describe Sprite, Dr. Pepper, or tonic-water is vague and inaccurate.

Soda, but it's a darker one like Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Rootbeer, ect. then I say Coke.

I don't drink "soft-drinks" any more... I just mainly drink juice and water. It's amazing how easy it actually is.
