You can still do it. Hell, I'll walk outside naked and rub my junk on the handle of my neighbors car. I'll probably get arrested but, you can still do it!

Why would I do that to my own stuff? My neighbor is a pretentious jackass and its a fitting punishment.

Edit: Though my suggestion is to stay off my bed. Who knows how many bodily fluids are on/in that thing.

When I hear people say "I can't do that" I always rebuttal with a similar comment. We can do whatever we want we just have to deal with the consequences of our actions.

Anyways, I got what you were saying.

 This is why we have laundry detergent.

We have rights, but its corrupt too. Like the news? That's just what media wants you to hear, there's all sorts of stuff that we don't get to hear from the news. I think I watch too much Law & Order though. Like that one episode from SVU where Olivia goes undercover in a female prison to catch a guard who is raping girls and almost winds up raped herself. That case didn't go as well as she'd like, she was almost raped and beaten up pretty good. But the law says they're allowed to use physical measures to put you in line. He'd just be moved to another prison and be allowed to do whatever he wanted again.

Then there are times when you have wonderful rights. I'm not one of those people who think this is shit and gonna sit here and bitch how much my life sucks in America. Yea the economy SUCKS right now, but I'd still rather be here then over in Iraq or Iran

As many rights as you might have, you also pay a bit of freedom or security for said right. So basicly it is as I tried to point out more of a control / double edged blade issue.

As an example: In Germany you can't get fired from the job without a pre-warning of at least 2-3 months while you can't fire anyone strictly either without said pre-warning.
Incase you still decide to do it you have to pay several fees to the person you had employed in most circumstances.

In the States: As far as we know it over here in Denmark and Germany you can buy weapons without any license as long as you are 18 years plus. That can give you a security, but at the same time also rises the risk you have because others have the same chances for buying one themselves, i.e. you are at the same risk and the police has a harder time.

Those are just two examples out of tons, so in the end I could say that you are "bound" by the term "right". To be more precise: The law defines a frame in which you may do something. On the surface you may do it, but once you look deeper you discover that there are several set limits to it around that keep you in check.

Geez. They can fire you any day they want, but they need a reason.

Well here you have to prove that the person was going against the contract. In most cases you have to pay reparation to the person or 1-3 monthly incomes that person would receive under working condition.

The reasons where they can avoid paying are things like going broke, the person stealing from work or being engaged in other criminal activities, or a breech of contract in general.

In America, some companies make you take a "personality" test which is designed to give a company a loophole to fire you in case you do something they don't like such as whistle blowing, union organizing, etc. Though "legally" they can't refuse to hire you because of your religion (or lack of one) but, its up to you to prove it which is practically impossible. If your fired its up to you to prove they fired you based on gender, creed, etc but, again its basically impossible for you to find out because you don't get access to that information.
