B. Chuck the knife! 7 shots should be plenty.
0
B. Throw dat knife!
Guns provide a quicker death just in case we can get an extra life

"You can take my knife," you say.

"Perfect!" the voice says. "Here is my advice: The beasts head is where you need to land a blow. However, you suffer from the fact that its body is like kevlar. How do you get through kevlar, Mr. Fitzgerald?"

You ponder the question and notice your companion slam both of her hands into her face. "What's the matter?" you ask.

She points at her chest aiming the gun at herself and pretending to fire before shaking her head. She then simulates stabbing herself in her chest, connecting where a blade would be in her hand and nodding.

"Do you understand what she is saying?" the voice asks you. "If you want to, I can let her talk temporarily, but you need to give something else up permanently."

"Hah..." you say exasperated. You decide to:

A. Make sense of what she's saying yourself
B. Give up something else to let her talk
C. Ignore both of them continue on
D. Other

A. Well, I had a feeling this would happen. Obviously the knife would be better use against Kevlar armor, but it doesn't matter. We're not here to battle, we're here to find the exit and every attempt to fight them is a loss of time and energy. We need to find a way around this swamp and a way to avoid them. Nonetheless, keeping the knife would be necessary.

D. Offer something else in an attempt to keep the knife.

I choose A. I don't think Fitzgerald is dumb enough to not understand her.
I have a feeling the voice won't be letting us have the knife back, anyway
2
"I understand her just fine," you say to the voice. "Any chance of a trade? The knife for the gun?"

"Nope! Good luck, Mr. Fitzgerald," the voice says.

You sigh and look at your companion. "I guess he can talk to both of us at once if you heard his hint," you say to her out of speculation. "Did he tell you good luck as well?"

She nods her head and returns her gun to her holster. She shrugs her shoulder and makes a few motions before looking at you intently.

"I'm going to guess that your asking what we should do now, correct?" you say now readying yourself.

She nods once more and waits for your decision.

"That's a very good question. What should we do now?" you ask yourself as you decide to:

A. Stay where you are for a little longer before leaving
B. Stay where you are for a good while and learn a little more about each other before leaving
C. Leave immediately and move on in a quick and efficient pace
D. Leave immediately and move on in a slow and cautious pace
E. Other

C, we must move on despite our circumstances. We cannot be cautious and defend against monsters we cannot defeat. We must use our agility to our advantage or we will never escape.
0
I go with C.

I hope we can just run away from the next monster again

I will go with the unpopular choice of D. It feels like moving quick could be dangerous.

Sorry Xnine, but I'll vouch for C too, because efficiency coupled with speed are the best.

Goodness gracious, I just spent all night playing DnD with my friends and I gotta go to work in four hours! I was going to update this tonight, but change of plans! It'll be updated sometime tomorrow afternoon.

You set out, trudging through the swamp at a quick pace. You don't know which direction to go, so you pick one at random. Seconds feel like minutes and minutes feel like days as you slog through the murky water. Between you and your companion, you have a constant eye scanning the water. Being buried up to your waist in swamp water keeps you vigilant when treading. Every splash alerts you, and not even the slightest ripple escapes either of your gazes. Even so, it feels as if you have been treading through the swamp for an eternity. No matter where you look it is just endless swamp. Even as you look up, you realize that the thick leaves of the trees act as a blanket. Though your question how light seeps through, it never changes its angle, making it impossible to ascertain which direction you are traveling. As you continue to walk, you decide to:

A. Keep moving forward at your current pace
B. Pick another random direction
C. Rest for a moment and collect your thoughts
D. Attempt to climb a tree or similar vantage point once more
E. Other

C. It would pay off to get some more understanding of what we're doing. Perhaps D if we are cautious of tree monsters.
0
We may be able to get at least a sense of direction if we see the angle of the light.

E. Make a gun sign with our hand to tell our companion to shoot and point it in the nearest tree's trunk.

Let's just make this fun

I choose D! Maybe with a little more caution than last time.

I'll go with D here.

I will be editing and updating my lovely maid story soon, so for those reading it, I hope you like the new chapters. Also, if anyone wants me to give my opinion on any of their submissions, I'd be more than happy to!

You sigh, stopping and staring at one of the trees. "Wait here," you say with much regret. "I'm going to see if I can climb one of the trees again."

Your companion shakes her head an waves her hand. She is very adamant on you not doing so.

"Not much of a choice, really. We're going to be stuck here forever otherwise. If you have any other bright ideas, you can tell me now," you say to her.

She does not oppose you and pulls out her phylactery. She extends her hand, waiting for you to accept it.

A. Take it and attempt to climb a tree
B. Refuse it and attempt to climb a tree.
C. Get her to climb the tree
D. Other

D, I still say collect our thoughts and think about what to do. We can go with trying to climb a tree again, but I don't think it'll go differently. Look for more solid and mineral vantage points like hills. A main problem is she can't tell us if she has any other ideas, so I want to be a little patient and have her play some charades while we go over what we know.

D.
I still go with my previous idea.
Get her to shoot a tree in the trunk

If you guys didn't know, school is back for me! (TT^TT)

That means that updates will be slowing down for a crawl on my submissions and that updates to this CYOA might be kind of schizophrenic when it comes to time. I apologize for this, but as Xen once told me, put your personal life before anything else. A good piece of advice in my opinion.
