No vanilla tag had me a little worried but in hentai, all well that ends well I guess.

From the brief flashbacks it seems like Mitsuki as a teacher was kind of loner, eating by herself. Subaru notices her and reaches out to her, probably with the kinda thoughts a normal highschool boy would have, and while she's drunk he does make a move on her.
Fast forward present day, Mitsuki comes home and Subaru is already there cooking them both dinner. While he still seems like a horny teen it clear he does care for her and feels bad when he was too rough with her, while Mitsuki still tries to act like the adult in the relationship.
Here's hoping for good things for this couple.

Subaru-kun seems IMO to be set of ingraining himself into Mitsuki-san's life, even though she has reservations about it once the alcohol has worn off.
