It's great how the author wrote a story which gives us insight on the psychological profiles of the main characters. Such storytelling always gets me deeper inside the story by creating a "relationship" between the characters and me...
...Hmm. Well, I find it interesting that you kind of get a grasp on the character's...well, personality based on their actions and their thoughts, and while I also thought he was a bit of an ass at the beginning, I can understand him feeling jealous or depressed that his wife cheated on him. Anyone would. Except that he himself also indulged in that at the first page.
...At least he changed by that ending, sort of, but I'm not quite sure at what point in time the first page took place. If it was before the actual story, then okay he's a changed man, but if it's the future...
Honestly, I'm not sure, but as a form of exploration of character I find this really interesting.
