Funnily enough they updated Chapter 50 on Mangahere(which uploads a day later than other sites) around the time I did my first post on Akame ga Kiru on Fakku! Nothing to stick your neck out for Kaimax.

How much I wanted to stop reading this manga was overcome of the power of FEELS!

I am looking forward to watch the anime. I can't wait to see all them feels being played in an animation!

Pretty cool first episode, enjoyed the character designs and the art in general. Really hope we go in depth with the characters and learn their backgrounds

This anime had a huge hype train behind it on /a/. So I figured what the hell.

Spoiler:
I thought it was rather plain. Guy setting off to restore his village, Giant city where there's more than meets the eye, and league of Chaotic Good Guys. The comedy was unnecessary in the more serious parts. I'll keep watching since users above said it has 'feels'. I found Tatsumi's comrades to be dead rather too predictable to feel anything, unfortunately.


BTW, the guy in the huge armor looks like a Persona.

Hm... I am hopeful of the anime since I found out that it's only 24 episodes, meaning we'll be getting an Anime original ED.

Well that episode was everything I wanted from Akame ga Kiru perfect censorship(aka as little as possible), the voices NAILED it, great fight scenes, and shotgun-style pacing. Guys the future episodes are going to be DRENCHED in despair if they maintain this level of quality.

Problem is that your starting off after knowing what to expect from Akame ga Kiru! from other people's opinions so you've pretty much steeled yourself for the worst outcome. Just watch and avoid conversation about it like the plague is my suggestion, Akame ga Kiru! isn't done.

I just watched the first episode - and I'm really impressed. It's been quite a while since I've seen an anime with imaginative plot twists and character development done in such a distinct way, where you cannot predict whether they are good/evil, whether they will live/die, supporting cast or main antagonist, etc.

So far, I would give it a 9/10. Kind of hard to top FMA: Brotherhood IMO, but still a masterpiece of its own, I think.

Of course, this opinion is subject to change as I see how the anime plays out.

This can be a bias opinion, but I can't help but saying it.

Aren't most animes at the start are predictable? I just think they started of quite well, but I do have to agree with you about the comedy part. Akame ga Kill is everything but comedy in my opinion. The manga is so good they didn't need much comedy, yet judging from the first ep alone I think it's like they're covering something missing with the comedy. Gotta wait until the next few eps.

After chapter 48 THEN it would be NTR.

I would say it started good. It'll never be as bloody as the manga, and the animation style is a bit odd imho (though Aria's derpface was scary), but oh well, it's just the first episode.

Can't wait for the truly gory parts. :D

I did not expect...any of that. Granted, I don't really recall reading the most recent synopsis nor have I seen any of the PVs. That storehouse filled with macerated bodies. I expected something bad to happen to his friends when he mentioned them with the foreshadowing but not a fate like that. Hell, I even liked Aria before she went foul at the end. "A family of sadists disguised as Samaritans."

I really like how sword wounds are actually fatal. Definitely looking foward to the BD. I could watch this all day.
