[Anime] Black Bullet

Spoiler:
So I feel like episode four as a conclusion to the starting arc was done badly: Why didn't Rentarou just own Mr.I'm-trying-too-hard-to-be-cool with Varanium limbs earlier (maybe explained later)? Character break on the Railgun just so people could swoon over Enju was cheap. Why the fuck didn't he shoot that old man, you would murder the kid but let the prick that almost destroyed the sodding planet go. Stage Five Gastrea otherwise known as that tentacle thing from Fate/Zero that sat there and waiting to get owned. Why would he take five dosages of Gastrea blood, it feels like major overkill (btw there were six in the case). However I still feel like watching the rest of Black Bullet because action is awesome, characters are compelling (when they act like it) and this is still much better than watching a fetid cesspool of writer upchuck that screams "gimme yo monies you brainless plebeians!"

If you can read Chinese or Japanese, I suggest that you read the novel instead. It's done so much better than the anime, to be honest. Every moment felt like the end, and well, to be honest it didn't feel like it here.

This season is over folks. Go home.

Spoiler:
Total heartbreak when Enju lied about her corrosion rate.... And I swear I will be majorly disappointed if Kagetane doesn't show up again at some point, because he got beaten too easily imo.

Spoiler:
Wasn't Rentarou the one who lied to her?

Just went back and watched that part and you are totally right, I somehow got that mixed up lol.

Spoiler:
Saitake left a good first impression, he's upfront about being an asshole and is intimidating-a worthy villain. His relative (based on the eyes) mr.bitchy-britches on the other hand is textbook bully (he even pushes Rentarou into a restroom), uninspiring and transparent. Tendo was swept under the rug rather conveniently despite almost destroying Tokyo. Well I anticipated the end to this arc coming from miles away, but I'll be interested to see how things shake out.

Episode 6
Spoiler:
They kept the song but changed the video, though I think it's slightly better. The new characters introduced in the opening theme makes it slightly more curious to make me continue watching it despite the agonizing feeling.

Now onwards with the episode. So far it has been alright for me since at this point I'm "new" to this part of Black Bullet. Kisara finally got more screen time in this episode, and she is just adorable. They did show a weak side of her sorta. Tina being a nocturnal animal initiator was a pretty obvious thing. What got me slightly off-guard was that she with her master are ranked in the top 100. Those blood drippings better be Enju's.

I've been trying not to... seeing as most of my complaints are rather common, but...

Episode 7,
Spoiler:
Sentenshi is suppose to be a noble character who seeks peace and order right? So why is she enabling Satomi's petty revenge? Did she really promote him just so that he could shoot ~insert bad guy's name~ finger off right in front of her. For all she would have known, he was about to kill, but she simply stood there unflinching. Can she really watch people being killed in front of her so easily?

Honestly it's funny, he ask her for power so that he can "protect", then turns around a gun on another person not a minute after gaining that power... He, ~insert bad guy name~, didn't even turn his gun on Satomi before it was shot out of his hand, he was pleading even... funny.

(Under a normal system, ~insert bad guy's name~ would have simply been arrested, trialed, and jailed. Not allowed to keep his position. But, he was simply attempting to kill a murder who attempted to murder a political figure, that he was protecting. If it wasn't for the typical "named male character whose not the protagonist so is portrayed as an evil asshole", what specifically would have been wrong, Satomi has killed killers.)

Last one was really me just ranting...

Spoiler:
What you are saying makes sense. I guess the series as a whole would respond to you with its usual theme of corruption. It would have been interesting to see Satomi shoot that guy in the chest and call it "an eye for an eye" even though a Tina was not fatally wounded.

I was expecting Tina to get shot eventually. Just not by that guy. Tina killing herself like her master wanted, her master killing her, even Satomi killing her would have been better than that guy.

Tina+Enju doujin will be welcomed with open arms if/when they show up.

[spoil]Then he became corrupted fast... And it would be Tina's choice to commit "eye for an eye" revenge. Satomi didn't lose anything and deciding, on his own, to extract someone else revenge, without any kind of acknowledgement of a desire for revenge is... Then there would be all the people who'd want revenge against Tina.

Either way, I found these scenes dissatisfying, and really just wanted to rant, otherwise I wouldn't be able to continue with this series. Trying to break my habit of dropping things that I start.

I hope the show the 2000 Gastrea battle. Though with 4? episodes left, I am not expecting much.
Also where is Kagetane, that couldn't be his death.

Satomi needs to accept the fact that someday the entire cursed child elementary school will be sleeping next to him.

Spoiler:
Can someone clarify the LN regarding the monoliths? Are they seriously saying that Tokyo was surrounded with a single layer of monoliths where the destruction of one means losing the entire city? In addition, Tokyo lacks to means to build a new monolith overnight/very very fast? The only thing that protects the city in case of a monolith being destroyed is really just the traditional (powerless) military and civil officers (Satomi)? This seems too perfect to occur since there are just a few episodes left so I can't imagine the LN's having exactly this scenario in it.

Tina is great but I miss the Enju-service. As always,
Tina+Enju doujin will be welcomed with open arms

Tell me if I missed it...

I really wish they would show the opposition to the Cursed Children. What are the claims against and who is making them? Why do people want them gone so badly, especially when they can't survive without.

You don't normally try to chase out the military that is defending you from invasion, so I find the hatred of Cursed Children, only factoring in "that they are slightly different" really weird. They aren't even Cursed Children used as an example of the danger they impose on people. As far as the show depicts, Cursed Children are (mostly) free of sin, harmless towards humans and never wishing ill will on those who treat them worst than the monsters would.

(I know with my last statement, people can equate Slavery, but I don't see any similarities between the Cursed Children and Slavery. With segregation as a byproduct of Slavery and Nationality and the mindsets adopted in those times, I don't include it either.)

Spoiler:

Not sure if this was mentioned somewhere in the anime before (hopefully that it was implied somewhere as my memory isn't that good), but I think that while civil officers are indeed in charge of exterminating Gastreas which of course the public knows, what the public didn't know is that these Cursed Children are helping them as well. Things would go out of hand should this be known to the public due to the fear of the Cursed Children.

And for the question relating to why the public is against the co-existence law, remember the corrosion rate stuff some episodes back? Well, think of it this way. Seitenshi-sama is trying to let a group of girls who're bound to be Gastrea soon to live within society. Like people against absurd government plannings, of course they'd oppose it. During those 10 years of struggle, probably some of the Cursed Children ended up as Gastrea too soon, killing off some people close to them. That could be false. However, the fact that they have the Gastrea gene in them is undeniable, carrying a part of a monster within them. Hence the fear of the general population, like that girl in the current episode whose mom abandoned her because she was scared of her red eyes. We've seen how Kayo (Dolphin initiator) was about to turn into a Gastrea, though in actuality, the Gastreas' attacks were the catalyst to the corrosion rate but that rate is still rising regardless. And of course, Enju's corrosion rate is about 7% below the threshold before she becomes a Gastrea herself. Anyway, the whole thing in summary is that in time, these girls will end up becoming Gastreas anyway.

Nobody in the right mind would want a monster-in-the-making to be roaming on the streets, never knowing when they'll start turning into something morbidly terrifying and start making people splatter their own blood on the nearest wall or floor. We've seen that that was the case with Kisara's grandfather, who'd summon a level 5 Gastrea just to ensure that the law doesn't pass. That showed his dedication due to the fact that a Gastrea killed most of his family.

And now to the current episode,
Spoiler:
Those foul-mouth siblings aren't that bad of fighters themselves. So much Tina in this episode, not that I didn't like it. And that girl whose eyes were covered with lead made me sad. What made me even sadder was those guys who tossed a cap in the bowl, making the girl think that it was a coin. Fuck those guys. And that level 4 Gastrea...I'll admit it. This fella wreaked more havoc than that level 5 Gastrea some episodes back which did literally nothing other than taking in damages.

Pretty sure it's public knowledge under context that a Promoter is also in charge of keeping the Initiator leashed.
