[General] What anime got you into anime???

I think I answered this before... but anyway... DBZ fo sho.

I think it might have been Yu-gi-oh, way back when the original series was airing. It was the 4Kids dub, and I didn't really have much choice in what I could watch, so I didn't really get into anime until I watched Claymore late last year.

-Evangelion brought it to my attention.

-La Blue Girl introduced me to hentai.

-Code Geass spurred my interest.

-Summer 2010: I get landed in the hospital with fuck all to do.

-I discover Anime 44.

-My fate is sealed.



It's tough to determine which show in particular hooked me. Code Geass definitely left an impression on me back in '06- but I haven't really watched any other shows until summer 2010, in which HOTD, Amagami, Ookami-san, Seitokai Yakuindomo, and Strike Witches 2 bombarded me.

First anime: Gundam Wing

The one that got me into anime: Armitage III

I have no idea, I remember that it was some action packed anime which made my jaw drop from all the sweet action but I was only 10 so I can't really remember it well.

Ranma 1/2 got me to anime.

well.. for sure is code geass.. I used 2 watch DBZ but nv really got intrested in it... but after watching code geass... I started trying watch other anime

Well, trick question, cuz I saw ronin warriors and macross and vampire hunter d and sailor moon when I was a little kid, I didn't know it was anime, nor did I know dbz was.

a coworker explained to me what anime was when I was 17 and let me borrow a VHS with Neon Genesis Evengalion eps 1-13... And I was hooked, I fell into obsession, spent hours a day looking at art reading tutorials for drawing, I couldnt draw a stick figure up until I found online tutorials for anime drawing, and all because of NGE. THAT to me is a beautiful memory.

I'm not sure actually, I think I got into the whole anime/manga scene when I started reading Love Hina and Detective Conan at a library with my friend. Anime may have been Love Hina aswell, or School Rumble.
Or, maybe it was Sky Girls. I have some vague memories of me watching that serie, I don't really remember which serie I started with though.

During my childhood, it was Pokemon, which got me hooked to the videogame series to this day. Others were Tenchi Muyo, DBZ, and Sailor Moon, thanks to my friends.
Then it was Code Geass, Death Note, FLCL, and Cowboy Bebop that were shown on Adult Swim, finally put the last nail on the otaku coffin box. I started buying DVDs, watching a lot of anime online, downloading j-music, and placing anime pics on my desktop. Would I ever change that now? Of course not, it is part of my life and I enjoy it so much to give it up. Thank you anime!

I've been into mecha genre since i was a kid, so it probably started in Voltes V,Daimos etc.

DBZ Pokemon

Sailor Moon was the main one, honestly. I also watched a very hefty amount of Tenchi Muyo, DBZ (because my brother was into it), and a little Pokemon.

I saw a Full Metal Panic parody on youtube, about two years ago and I was curious, I wanted to check out the original. So, I downloaded the full series. Since than, I can't get enough anime.

Pokemon,digimon,and from there it was a downword spiral of japanese anime takeover of my normal to turn me into a anime otaku and hentai fapper

Pokemon and DBZ

pretty much anything on Toonami back in the day. DBZ, Gundam, One piece, Kenshin, yu yu hakusho.... yeah all that stuff. Although I'll admit, the main one that started to get me really hooked was Naruto.

Voltez V and Dragon Ball...

I even remember playing Voltez V songs from a cassette tape over and over again...

Princess Mononoke started it for me.

Have I already posted in this? I guess not.

Mahou Sensei Negima was what got me into anime.
