Magic the Gathering

New Planechase was fun. Me, my friends, and our old high school teacher played together. One of my friends was the designated reader for each plane and phenomenon we ran into, and always delivered it in a funny royal-sounding voice. It was a 9-player game though, so it took SOOOO LONG. Ended up being a several hours long, but enjoyed every minute of it.

unfortunately they ended up not doing the planechase event at my comic book store, but i got some cool trades off. got an avacyn and a sigarda for my mayeal edh (couldn't get the gisela) and a couple of other nifty stuff.

Very nice. Those angels are amazing, want to build a deck around each of 'em. Gisela, I especially want because she'll be able to shut down my friend's pinger deck, and just plain I think I have some good ideas to troll my other friends with.

I wanna use Avacyn in my EDH deck, too. Kinda pricey though, where I go, she's 13 bucks. Though, I'm prepared to get me a Mind Sculptor, too, so I can bear it.

What kind of decks/colours you guys run?

refuse to buy planechase until I find it in wal-mart, there is no reason Night of The Ninja should be $25.

Control decks of any combination of white or blue. I just like shaping the board to how I want it to look. But my favorite deck I have right now is a hyper aggresive green infect deck, just 'cus its funny that when it wins, it wins in 2-4 turns.

@gurall: 25 bucks? Wow, pretty crazy. I really want those ninjas, too. When is the card shop I go to gonna start selling those separately... =3=

Want the price to drop on some AVR cards, too. Tamiyo's still around 35 bucks...

but, hey imo island is the most broken card in mtg, lol. it should be banned...*seriousface*

yea, i can't get enough of black's tutors, and it has a little bit of every shtick...execpt hard counters, and it lacks any form of enchantment removal on it own (outside of colorless).

but all in all, i say blue has a clear advantage over the other colors....but what can you do, lol.

Gotta love blue control. I sure do =3. Just the act of reaching over to my untapped islands makes my friends nervous. They always think I have some trick up my sleeve.

if you're tapping islands and people DON'T get nervous (EVERY time), then you're not doing right, lol. island = the most powerful card in mtg imo.

The only color with cards in the power 9 is blue...course the rest is artifacts (face it, we all secretly fear the player rockin the brown)

Feel like building a blue-control pauper deck now... Already compiled the decklist, though its probably gonna go through several changes before I go get all the cards I need.

If I were rich, I would just abuse the hell outta Time Vault. That card is so funny.

No joke, there is literally a vintage deck that does just that. Course it is essentially made up of the entirety of the banned list + 4 Jace, the Mind Sculptor.

Good ol' Mind Sculptor. I'd REALLY like a copy of him for my EDH deck, but... damn. lowest I've seen him was 45 bucks on ebay. The cardshop I go to sells him for 60. Nothing compared to some of those old cards, I know, but still. Might settle for just a Beleren, though.

If you have patience and don't mind sometimes having to buy more than one, Ebay is your friend.

My friend and I split a box of AVR. We pulled Tamiyo, Avacyn, and Bruna as our Mythics, as well as some other pretty good rares. Thought it was pretty funny that the first two packs we opened had Tamiyo and her emblem.

Meanwhile, my Arbiter EDH deck may be put on hold. I've started compiling a list for a different one with Sen Triplets as the commander.

You should put doomsday in, not because I think it's good but because the concept of using Doomsday to win in an edh game sounds lulzy.
