As I don't really expect people to know history/geography whatever not relevant to their interests, I couldn't say I suffer from supposed lack of knowledge about the outside world. I can make myself clear even if it takes longer.
Now what really annoys me is when people don't repay that courtesy and assume everyone knows about American politics, history, slang terms and so on.
Many Americans seems to be into politics, much more than your avarage Swede. Propably more than I am aswell, but I feel like I hardly can have conversations with them on the subject as they just drop name of politicans that I only vaguely know what they represent. And the worst thing is that you can never ask, because who gives good answares when talking about politics?

To be honest I like most of you; the only thing that does tend to get to me is your total lack of foreign knowledge, I know more about America and other countries than most Americans know about their own country. Blame the education system i think but i believe you're taught to think that your country is the only one that matters. I could just be acting ignorant, not really sure.

I'm sorry but Obama just sucks... He really doesn't have a stand on anything... he changes sides so much... I don't like Mccain either but IMO I'd rather have someone with solid foundation...
As for what I think of other Americans? We eat too much fatty foods and stuff, but that is what I like about America... Such good foods. Problem is this increases body weight making standard clothing size bigger making it impossible for me to find clothes without traveling all over the place searching for good pants...

as far as the voting for obama or not thing is going it seems like people here are missing the point. Those of us voting for him are mostly voting for him because he's the democratic candidate not because we loooooves him sooooooo much. Honestly I think he's showboating too much and would prefer Clinton but that's not gonna make me vote republican ruin-our-country-and-if-we-can-the-world.

Until american's (I am one) stand up and get rid of the electoral college our vote don't mean dick. And I like McCain hes a cool guy, Obama has never impressed me (we voted him senator here in IL and first thing he did was start running for pres), but I don't believe either is what our country needs to fix itself (if it can be fixed). So I will probably write in my Mom for pres, because it makes that little of a difference.i dont like obama either but im voting for him. Libertarian party is the only viable third party. Like compared to the anarchist, green (enviromentalist),etc. If voting Libertarian is like throwing my vote away I'll be happy to do it. I don't want to be responsible for voting a republican or a Democrat into office. Both parties are corrupt to the core and only serve their own interests, not the peoples.
