I just played a match as The Crystal Maiden, 17/8/16 was my score.
I finally am getting a hand on this game!

Careful with that; Crystal Maiden is regarded as a support hero, so it's generally agreed upon that you shouldn't be getting any kills that you could instead give to your carry. It's not a bad thing to go 1/5 or 1/8 as a support if you've got 16+ assists and your carry's got at least that many kills. That's what being support is all about.

That is of course how a supporter should play. But frankly, They were mindlessly ganking me and giving me free kills. Our mid carry left in the middle of the game so I tried to fill her role, I was fed enough to do so...

Hard to judge if the score is a good indication or not, but I'm guessing your team stomped the other team. Just remember CM is reduced to being the ward hoe at higher level plays.

I mostly play hard supports because I'm usually the last one to pick on my team, and my friends almost always picks other roles. Usually end up in a baby sitting role for the first 10 minutes, and end up going the short lane with a carry. I don't last hit at all, unless the carry is out of position, and focus on denying/harassing. Always start out with courier/wards, and bird or sentry ward asap when I reach the 200 gold mark + boots at 500. Mek/mana boots early if there are enough money left over. Under these circumstances, I find it really difficult to get over 10 kills with a support before the game is over. It's easy as hell to die as well, especially with CM since she has such a slow MS. The moment you get caught out of position or by a smoked gank, there's little you can do.

Frankly I think that's the way supports should be played, all your gold should be from towers, assists, the money given out over time.

Protip, get a orb of venom very early to beat Templar Assassin.

The 3 damage tick just melts through her shield and she is now harassable.

Yeah, or someone who can clone or can do multiple damage in one skill can do the job. Also, anyone with poison works like Venomancer and Eredar.

Hold onto that one. They are and will be one of the most rarest items in the game.

I find QW's lack of damage disturbing, so I always go E with 1 in Q and W.

Plenty of Sun Strikes.

It really depends on your gameplay. You put in Q if you want longevity in lane, W if you want quick movement/attacks and survivability, E if you want to dish out basic attack damage.

I usually balance the three while leaning to one more than the other two, depends on the game really.

The Tornado + EMP combo is what makes me love it. Being able to CC + DMG and burn about 300-400 mana of 3-4 people just turns a fight around in such a gamebreaking way. Then you easily switch to Alacrity and Cold snap to completely shut down one player and pick people off with your maxed attack speed.

I always found using Tornado+EMP When fighting heavy carries/int heroes. But usually I use Tornado+Meatball+Deafening Blast when defending or when I want to deal serious damage to teamfights

Can't find any items for crap... does level or any other factors affect chances of obtaining an item?

Must convince friends to pick pushers every game.

Drops are entirely RNG, but you do get one item when you level up.

What level you are does not matter.

[color=red]Finally, played DotA2 for the first time. 2 games with Invoker, 1 win 1 lose.

I'm having hard time adapting with the new "shortcuts" and controlling courier.

Like when combo-ing Meteo-Blast (in dota, I used D-B). Result = total mess. I opened war with blast first and suddenly buy/shop window pop out, and my meteo didn't come out at the perfect timing.
The environment view is also bit confusing. Maybe it will take 1-2 months to adapting with this game.

First game, nothing special. Ursa takes all the kill and I'm just adapting myself with new Invoker.

Second game, pain in the ass. Mid vs Shadow Fiend, managed to FB him (early level with Sunstrike). Then, 2 teammates leave the game :/
Good thing I managed to hold them till 40min. Guinsoo, Aganim, and Phase Boots with score 10-1-?? (dunno about assist). And then, blackout lol.

But I'm enjoying this game. It's bit hard to adapt from Dota1 to Dota2, but I'm sure I can do it in few months.

On TI topic, I'm going for NaVi again this time.

I guess you're using Legacy settings. Usually, this could be fixed by just setting the shop button to another one that doesn't clash with the other buttons, like N instead of B (in my case, the button ,)
