AM is hardly picked anymore, hes a very rare pick these days, and I guess you have no idea why that is either? Why not pick heroes that are broken, right?

You're clueless. The reason he was picked so much was because he was amazingly strong with the heroes that existed back then. There weren't many heroes at all. And he was easily shutdown back then, and is still as easy to shut him down.

I appreciate the information that you're giving us, but I have to wonder why you're insistent on being so rude about it. Wouldn't it be easier to at least feign politeness and have people respect you for the knowledge you clearly want to show off?

Fuck you I don't need respect I do what I want! jkjk

I don't want to show off, but I just can't stand people calling heroes OP after they've been completely wooped by them in a pub. If they give any reasonable facts why the hero is OP, sure I can buy it. But AM really never has been OP. He's been a very, very strong pick because of the "current meta game". Hes not a very good pick anymore because of the heroes that were released after TI1. The game has become more emphasized on push. Thus having a hero farming won't have a chance against a team of 5 that takes all your outer towers before the 15minute mark and establishing full map control leaving no place to farm for the enemy carry.

I really hate the expresion "Meta game". Its just a lousy excuse for teams that have no imagination of their own.

And to answer your question, I don't try to come out as a rude person, but it ends up that way.

May I ask, What exactly is "Agility"? I like to play Broodmother and I just don't know what agility is...

Agility is one of the three attributes. Each point increases your attackspeed by 1 and armor by 0.14.

Broodmother is also an agility hero, so she gains 1 dmg for each point aswell. Agility heroes also tend to gain more agility per level.

On Broodmother you'd often want to take the solo "hardlane", that means solo top if you're Radiant, or solo bottom if you're Dire. And you generally want to get a "Orchid Malevolence" as soon as possible. But before that a "Soul Ring". Once you get your Soul Ring you can start building a spider army. Unless the enemy has a lot of AOE, then you just shoot the shot into their chest. If you have ANY questions, feel free to add me on steam or skype!

Yeah, her net synergizes with Soul Ring very well. It gives her a lot of HP regen, so she can SPAM her nuke. She is the definition of a solo hardlane.

Because her skillset is more tuned to a support role. Although you can build her with carry items, she will never be as effective a carry as a true carry would be.

The thing to realize is, Dota2 champions are much more powerful than League champions, and in this game, carries carry a LOT harder. I'm serious. In League, even if you're super fed, you still won't be taking down the enemy team without your team to back you up (unless you're playing against bots), but in Dota2 it is not only common but expected for a team's carry to be able to kill two or three members of the enemy team entirely on his own.

Windrunner doesn't have an adequate League equivalent to really be compared to, but the thing about her skillset that makers her unfit for the role of carrying is that she simply doesn't do enough damage. For starters, she's an Intelligence hero that doesn't have any nukes, so stacking Intelligence carry items isn't going to do much more for than give you mana that you don't really need. It will give her damage, of course, but what is she going to do with it? Her ult causes her to deal reduced damage to the target, and if she changes targets she loses the attack speed bonus. Her kit is designed around position-based support, hit-and-run tactics, and in the case of her ult, tower killing. But if you really want to know why she's not a carry, give her 7,000 gold and give an actual carry 7,000 gold and see who wins the fight. 10 times out of 10, Windrunner will lose that fight.

Windrunner qualifies as a semi-carry because a competent player with a careful item build can carry a team in the right situations--but there's a big gap between the abilities of a semi-carry and a carry. And don't even get me started on hard carries, lol

... Holy shit. I mean, I have always known that Dota 2 heroes were far more unique then League. But I have never thought that a character role could be deeply divided to other roles.... This is amazing and very confusing...

I must go a lot deeper into this game then start asking questions. Thank you!

No problem. Dota2 can be a little confusing at first--it was for me. I haven't even been playing it for a year. I played League from release until I got my Dota2 invite and made the switch, and never looked back. The learning curve can be a steep climb at times but when you start to figure everything out, it's a very rewarding feeling.

That is not a very fair way to judge a hero. If we take two lowbies in that scenario, the WR would lose. If you took two high-skilled people the carry would lose more often. Of course, that depends on who the carry is.

For 7k a WR can get a Meka, Phase and Forcestaff plus ~1.1k to spend. If, lets say AM for example gets 4k. He would only have Battlefury and Yasha with ~450 to spend. Or BF with Boots and 1.2k to spend. In this scenario the WR would have more chance of winning because of her ridiculous CC and Utility. It entirely depends on who shes up against, or who's shes playing against. As you said, she's a semi-carry that doesn't require a lot of gold.

Sure, you're talking about CARRY Windrunner, which is very viable, but not before the 40 minute mark. WR is a very, very dangerous hero if the game goes on. I've played and seen a lot of WR games that has gone like this: Team with WR loses early and mid game but WR does very well for her self. WR gets her core items very quickly then gets MKB and Desolator and drops the enemy carry in a heartbeat. But you can not call her a carry at all. She is probably the best solo hardlaner there is, because there is really no way to kill a WR unless you have a very dangerous trilane.

She is also a hero that new people should stay away from. Sadly.

You've made me want to play Windrunner, lol. I've seen decent Windrunners, but never seen her as having any potential to carry--I've never seen her accomplish anything more than being a massive annoyance.

BM is the best solo suicide laner

Also WR is good at anything and can excel at anything if played correct. That's why she's good. She's not a carry, ganker, midgame, early game hero, or a support; she's just what you want her to be and she fits well into most lineups.

@Noutakun
She can be whatever you want her to be. There is no bad item on her. She is everything you want her to be.
