This message has also been sent directly to Jacob. I will be posting it here as well in the interest of transparency and so that any potential response may also be relayed to the community:
Hey Jacob, I've been a user of the site for 4 years (not nearly as long as many others, but I have definitely enjoyed the content and overall quality for my stay). I understand you are probably getting a million different messages regarding the content removal and if you don't respond then it is what it is. I'm asking you because there has yet to be any answer on the forums:
What is happening to the "controversial" tags? Will their content ever be returned? It has been 2 months now and there has been no information on this.
Far be it from me to accuse you of anything negative related to money- I've used this site for free all these years and I'm not opposed to the idea of a fairly-priced subscription model if it gets me quality content and even creates a legitimate industry in the west. In these regards I support your endeavors.
At the same time however, I want to be able to access diverse content. If we can't have unlicensed doujins or scanlations, then fine. But what about the nuking of entire categories of content, and thousands of items that fell under them? I can tell that you plan on hosting (and are currently hosting) high-quality content under the paid model, but what will happen to all non-vanilla content? It is for that reason, as a fan of many of those tags, that I have felt "turned away" from Fakku by these vague and unspecified changes in policy which you simply described as "certain controversial content". Were it not for that I would still be actively using your site rather than simply logging in to transfer my favorites to other sites.
This is your chance to change my mind, Jacob. You want to increase the quality (and legality) of fakku's content. But what about its diversity?

This has been addressed in one of the pages in the discussion topic.
The controversial tags are just hidden from users as we remove all unlicensed content. They'll be back sometime after the magazine subscription is put into place, which has taken longer than expected due to legal matters.
If you're worried about Fakku not publishing diverse content, you need not worry anymore. They've already released some under the title of Bosshi's XXX Mix. It contains loli, beastiality, futa, incest, and tentacles.

I can certainly understand that the legalities and bureaucracy involved in this would take time, so that's a fair assessment. Is there any particular reason for such a large swath of content to be put under judgement though? I could understand, for example, the hold on loli and shota content given their legal grey area. But others like monster girl and tentacles should have no relation to this. I know all content will eventually come under the same form of judgement at some point for legal reasons, but why single out those that don't have any inherent relations to law on a content basis?

To my understanding and what I've been told, the controversial filter was made because the content was either illegal or could be construed as illegal in some countries. We needed an option for users that didn't want to take a chance in viewing potentially risky/illegal content. Thus the option to turn a filter on/off was made.
I think the decision to remove those unlicensed things first was because it was easier and there was much less of it than more mainstream genres.

At the very least, this gives me something closer to a clear answer. I'll still surf other sites for the content I can't find here right now, but I'll see what Fakku comes up with before casting any judgement on them. If the model is good and has what I'm looking for I'd be glad to pay for it. Appreciate the informed response.
