Adding Books Bought From A FAKKU Convention Stand

So I don't know if this is already a feature or not, but I think it would be a great and by far very welcome feature to anyone who likes to buy the physical copies of the books, and that would be adding any books purchased from a FAKKU supported convention stand or the likes to come with some kind of digital code for it so that we can read our hentai online as well. I have four books that I own currently, two of which were purchased from the FAKKU stand at the Fanime convention in San Jose. I find it a bit disappointing that I spent the same amount on the book that I would have spent to order it, but I lacked the ability to read it online or add it as purchased with some kind of code. Again, this may already be a thing, and I may just be being stupid, but if not, I really do feel that it is a must have for people that want to support FAKKU and buy stuff from the convention stands.

They do allow you to add books to your digital library:
Just take a picture of the books you bought with your convention pass and send that picture, and a brief description to store@fakku.net
Regarding giving out codes for digital versions at conventions, it just doesn't seem feesable, with conventions like Anime Expo giving every single person who buys a book a unique download code would slow the whole process down at checkout, not to mention the amount of codes that would anger to be printed up and may never be used.

It is true, though, that enabling a feature for this (even if the code idea isn't possible) would be a good idea. I was thinking about them writing down the username or such, but I guess it comes back to the same agility problem, plus, new users wouldn't be able to do this...

They did have digital code on those cardboard sheet thingy you see at Costco where you buy gift card once. Also book code give way i think.

I can understand that printing the codes can be a huge pain, but giving them out would be easy. Just include them in the book that is going to the convention. Like put it between either the cover and the first page or the last page and back cover. It wouldn't take anymore time and you would only need to print ones for the number of books you will be selling. Again, I repeat, I still understand that creating the unique codes and printing them could still be a huge pain to do, so I understand where you are coming from. You could even just have it print a digital code for it on the receipt which would save time on printing as well. Though again that would require them to have some form a cash register and I don't remember if they had one at the convention I went to. They did take card though, I think...

They did take card though, I think...The books come pre-sealed from the printers and I'm sure everyone would rather not have the seal messed with. (Slipping the cards into the books would take a considerable amount of time for the amount of stock we bring to AX and other cons)
We don't print receipts, but if we did, I'm not sure if generating a code via checkout would be possible. Wifi/data is usually unreliable too.
Writing down your username, info, books bought would take too long. Input errors may happen as well.
I'm not sure if there's a better way of handling digital codes for purchases at conventions, but we're open to ideas!

Seems like a photo of the receipt might be more reliable than the photo of the book, I assume the receipt would provide some unique info like time and date of purchase that might prevent people from just taking a photo of a friend's book.
Otherwise, it would have to be uniquely generated OEM code, which is probably overkill for this. Hypothetically you could print stickers since the books are sealed and have the 'access the digital content with this code' type of deal. But you would have to generate the codes and store them in the database (which isn't terrible). Put them in a spreadsheet and you can proably print them out on a sticker sheet. The printers maybe willing to apply a preprinted label on the books, otherwise, manual application would be tedious.
I worked for a small indie publisher and there was more than one project where all the non-managers were pulled into the warehouse to unwrap, sticker, and re-shrink a product. 20-30 people working to redo 5000 units can usually get it done ine less than a week. Memories...
