[Locked] Can someone explain "de-bug posts?"

Alright, I've seen "de-bug post" too many times.

What is it, exactly?

Is it server overload protection?

You mean "Anti bug post"?
Sometimes when a thread has to change page it bugs. This causes the most recent post to disappear because the thread doesn't change page. (A thread changes page when the max amount of posts has been made, on Fakku it's 15 posts) To fix this another user has to post in the thread.



A easy way to spot this, is to see if the user who made the last post on the thread is the same as the last poster if you scroll down.

Why does this occur?

It got something to do with the servers. You have to wait until Jacob or Flaser (or someone else that knows a thing or two about servers) gets here and explains it. I honestly don't know anything about servers.

For some reason the reply count on some threads (some rare new ones, and all threads made before a certain Fakku update) is off by 1 (in some bad cases more), which causes the system to think that a new page is not needed yet.

I seem too recall it happening after the update in which CTFG was created. Or was it later when Fakku lost those few months of posts?

Way after CTFG was made, not sure how close it was to the database crash.

I think it started just after the big roll back.
