Fakku Scaling & Page sizes etc.

When reading some of the subscription pieces and books I noticed a relatively minor issue, but it is one that still bugged me.

When reading some hentai in the 'fit to width' option under settings I found that this blurred some of the pages to a degree. Not so it wasnt legible, but I could tell the difference in comparison to a nice and crisp hentai image/page.

The way I have been able to solve this issue to some extent is to have the pages etc show at 'Original Size' and then I scale the zoom of my browser way back using 'Ctrl -' I'm currently using Firefox and my monitor is a relatively good resolution at 1920x1080p.

I was just curious as to wether this is something that might be able to be fixed eventually sometime, I hope it does. It's not so terrible that i'm pooper pained but I tend to be a stickler for details and specifics that I come across. How has page scaling etc. been going for everyone else on Fakku?

The reader was recently updated with a new downscaling feature for non-mobile devices with the goal of reducing pattern artifacting that you would otherwise get. It works well for that purpose, but the downside is that the images do end up looking a bit blurrier. Here is an example of old & new downscaling - as you can see that while the left looks sharper, some ugly patterns have formed in the grey areas.

If you still prefer the left over the right, however, we will be soon adding an option that allows you to choose which method you prefer to use for downscaling.

Thankyou Daiz, it's nice to know that something like this is in the attention of the Dev's etc. Your linked example was exactly what I was trying to exaplain.

I tend to use Mangameeya 7 myself for when reading content offline so I can tweak the image quality to my liking with scaling options etc but it is a pleasure to know that this will eventually be enabled to the wider Fakku audience. Many thanks and keep up the great work!

The reader has been updated and now includes a "Downscaling Method" option in the settings. You can set it to "Fast" to get the sharper resizing with patterning.
