Fakku sig auto resizing. Please help

So I start off with a rather small picture and I decide to put it into my signature. I do all the necessary codes for the pic to work and then submit it. But then when I go check my sig on the forums. This rather small picture has become HUGE. Why on earth did it resize my picture to make it bigger then it actually is? I have already tried different upload hosts as well as different pictures and picture formats. Nothing seems to work. My small pictures always end up gigantic. If anyone knows what I should do or what I did wrong please tell me. Thank you for your assistance.
