File Renaming Software

After going through Hell trying to rename/sort out all my images, i wonder if anyone here use renaming softwares? The existing renaming software in window is too weak. :evil:
Just need some sugestion and idea on what program everyone use.
I did a google search but there's just too many programs to pick from that i have no idea where to start. :lol:

Seems like no one is answering the post so i'll answer my own question.. <.<;;
After doing some reseach, i settle with "Oscar's File Renamer".

So far so good, changing the name via text editor is a lot faster than usual. I'll keep everyone update if i find any problem with the software.
Here's a Key features copy and paste from the Softpedia webpage.

· Fast Editing of long list of file names - exactly like in a text editor
· All changes to files themselves are done at the very end when you press Apply Changes, not during editing.

· It doesn't let you enter wrong characters
· A File List shows the original names on the disk.
· You can record a keyboard macro and apply to the file names.

Argh, don't be so rude, you. VRevs was probably referring to Windows's inablity to rename many files using a numerical or algerbraic equation.
Like... manga01.jpg (to) hottails01.jpg, manga02.jpg (to) hottails02.jpg for lots of files.

Its as what Hibia said, the existing window renaming software is weak.
Renaming in window is very limited if you compare with the third party software i list up. :D
When you have tons of pictures/photos to organize, having some help sure beats having non at all =P

The main reason i'm searching for another renaming software is because i can't rename folders inside "Oscar's File Renamer".
I'm sure some people prefer to organize everything in folders and don't care about the file name. :wink:
It'll take you a while to get used to the interface though. So far, I find it more powerful than the "Oscar's File Renamer". :P

I know how you feel VRevs, I have an incredibly large amount of images that I would love to just intelligently rename with a few clicks. One of the reasons you see page names so incoherent in the manga you download from FAKKU is because it takes far too long to properly rename them from the moonspeak.

I used ACDSee few years back. Stop using it after i found the program history retain all my pictures even after i delete them from the window recycle bin. How's the new version?

When it comes to sorting out manga, i usually sort them out by folders since renaming each file will take ages. That, and folder take ages to load when there's too many stuff in it. :evil:
