Inability to cancel the sending of a PM

I sent a PM, and before it was read, I deleted it from my sent folder. That was, to me, the expression of intention that I want to cancel the sending (I don't want it to be read etc). But the receiver replied, obviously indicating he could read the PM. This is different from what I wanted.
I'd like to ask for the ability to cancel the sending of a PM. The simplest this could be done is by making it such that if a sent PM, still unread by the receiver, deleted from the sent folder of the sender, it would also deletes the PM from the receiver's inbox and notifications. I believe this is a beneficial feature to have.
Thank you very much.

Hmm... I am quite sure someone else brought up such an issue previously, but from another viewpoint.
According to Mibuchiha, he would like to delete a PM before the intended recipient reads it. However, based on my somewhat poor memory, there was a period of time, whereby sent PMs get deleted too early by the sender, and the intended recipient fails to receive it.
Would it be possible to simply inform your intended recipient to ignore your earlier PM?

I like the way it works now, I don't think users should be able to delete a pm they sent.

...the point of a message is that you CANNOT delete it.
That'd be like a magical email retraction service...

I could find deleting a PM sent already but not to be quite useful actually...
Kinda want to delete that username change PM to Jacob and then send a PM another Admin, but it doesn't really matter if I can't anyway.

Well, back in the days you can cancel the text you sent, now you can't.
Just think of it that way, think before you send PMs :D
