I'm not sure if this was ever suggested, or if it is currently an option, but is there a way to purchase the digital copy of a book, then subtract it from the physical copy price or discount it to a certain extent?
I'm asking this because I want to get a glimpse of books I wouldn't buy outright. Another reason is because USD conversion to CAD isn't so hot right now.

At the moment there is no way to just get the price already paid for a digital book off the price of a physical book.
Instead you have to go through the entire purchase process from adding the physical book to your cart and checking out for the full amount.
After you place a whole new order for the physical copies email store@fakku.net
Please include the following in your e-mail:
-Old Digital Order number:
-New Physical Order number:
They will then refund the amount of the original digital purchase to either your credit card or your Bitcoin wallet.
You can do all the steps for an entire physical order just see what the whole order totals to then subtract the amount already paid on a digital only order, that way you can get an idea of where you will be after shipping with the book purchase.
