I created this account for the sole purpose of posting a reply on the 'learn more about the decision' post, but it got removed right after I created the account, so I'll put my feedback here instead.
I'll get the overall opinion out of the way first, and I'll be honest, I am not happy. I'm not seething with hatred, I have an understanding as to why the administrators of FAKKU have done this, but it is simply not to my liking what so ever.
I used to come to this website one to three times a week. I didn't really do a lot of browsing of multiple categories / series. I had a core selection which I liked, the Monster Hunter and Sailor Moon series were good, and there were quite a few original pieces that I liked as well. Because I was only here to browse a few comics and wasn't really paying attention to the website news, I was unaware that unlicensed content was going to be removed.
So imagine my surprise when I go to my favourite website for hentai comics and I find that none of the series links are returning results. I figure, maybe there's an issue with the server? Then I saw the link and I had a good read, then I had to go back and read it again just to make sure this wasn't a prank or my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.
This move that you have made is a mistake, and not just a small mistake, an NGE Star Wars Galaxies level mistake (for those who are unaware, company made serious changes to the game, which caused the bulk of the supporters to desert the product). You have told those who once loved your website that you will now only be providing a fraction of what you once did, and what you are providing is locked behind a paywall and I'll be honest, I cannot see a large number of people willingly stepping up to pay money to access a fraction of what was here before.
I'd ask what drove you to think that this would be a good idea, but I already got that from the now missing 'learn about the decision here' page. You want to protect the intellectual property of artists. They worked hard on these products, they deserve more than to just have their work ripped from hard copy and placed on the internet for all to enjoy. HOWEVER your handling of this issue is, in my opinion, absolutely appalling.
What you should have done, was work with a reporting system (so that fellow users could report content they know the artist didn't give permission to be distributed), and deal with ripped content on a case by case basis. If the artist wants their work pulled from the site, then that happens, and what is left behind is a message stating why the content is no longer available. Will you still get unhappy customers? Of course, because the content they liked is no longer there, but that's a small number of dissatisfied individuals, others will come to take their place if they choose to desert the website because you pulled the content they liked.
Instead you employed scorched earth tactics, you got rid of every single piece of content that was not officially licensed. Every single piece. You went from having thousands of pieces of content, which filled multiple different categories to, a ballpark number of around 300? I might be off on the exact number there, I stopped counting the magazines after 12 pages, and all of this content, from what I can see requires a subscription. You've stated that at 'some point' you'll make some of the content free, but I'll be honest, that's not good enough.
If you are going to force people to pay for content, then before you implement that change you should have a library of free content already available for those who are unwilling to pay or who are unable to afford your subscription fee. Are people still going to be upset that the bulk of the content on this website is gone? Absolutely, and they have every right to be upset, but at least they have a small library of content for them to use, a library which will grow as more manga and magazines are made available, while subscribers continue to get it all weeks if not months before everyone else. But they don't have that right now, at least not from what I can see.
If your goal was to cause the bulk of your website traffic to abandon your website, then you have most likely accomplished that, congratulations.
When you have a decent library of free content, or you revert this change and go with something far more reasonable, I'll return to this site, but until then, my viewing needs will be seen to elsewhere.

First paragraph: for years artists and companies have asked for fakku to remove content so people have reported these issues. Legally there have been issues in the past, none of this is new. Also if you work for a corporation they will not allow something such as piracy along with officially contracted merchandise to be housed in one place. It looks bad for the business and for Wani to even allow fakku to slowly remove it's content is very generous. Most companies would have wanted full take-down of all pirated material, but they were instead given time to transition.
Second paragraph: if people are unsatisfied with the free content that was previously on there then they are not the targeted consumer/customer. They are moochers that only want their free shit to put it quite frankly. A consumer would look past this decision and view the content that is available to own and decide whether it is feasible or of their interest to obtain said product. The people that get pissed they can't get their free porn fix will go elsewhere, they don't even consider what it is that is offered to them. Not condemning those that support piracy, just saying that if a person is just looking for free, regardless of the product they would rather bitch then ever pay a cent for anything.
Third paragraph: do you realize how long all of this process takes? In over a year or so 300+ works and less then 20 physical books have been released by a small group of highly efficient translators and the business will only grow. This is pretty impressive and should not be under-looked. You and everyone else wants free now, but regardless of how differently this could have been played out, they have done an amazing job so far. It would have taken time regardless to start up and get what is already available out, so you either have to be patient or move on. Many don't realize just how difficult and taxing it is to release official content in a timely manner and this is pretty fast considering.

Lol, you arent even a fan or part pf the fakku community if all you do is just fap and not take part in fakku's goal. Why would it hurt to lose people like you who promote pirating?
Free content? You honestly think the authors wants their work to be free when they use it as livelihood? Maybe you should be ripped off of your salary to know how it feels

Well, looks like someone is trying to sound smart when they don't know anything about running this kind of business.
First and foremost, Scanlations are Illegal.
You can't sell legit stuff side by side with Illegal stuff, that's Hypocrisy.
Try asking 2008 Crunchy Roll when they were still allowing people to upload fansubs to the site despite having received a huge capital investment. 2009 is when they've cleared all the unlicensed stuff.
There's no running around the bush for that topic. Heck, some of us are still surprised that Wani Magazine gave Fakku Publishing Rights, while other companies would have just shut down fakku with more DMCAs.
Also about removing "Unlicensed Content", It just shows that Fakku is SERIOUS to everyone.
Why should fakku be worried about people abandoning fakku, when those people won't even pay a cent, when the mentality is still "I won't pay for Porn". Heck, you don't need to talk about FAkku, when was the last time you donated to a scanlation group? when was the last time you read through the credits page of a scanlation team responsible for your "free content"?
Also small library? 300 titles is huge for a Start Up Business. Do you expect to have 5000 titles ready? Get Real. You probably won't even read more than 10 each fap session, assuming you don't care about the content of each works.
They have a very limited team, getting 300 titles after 7 months is actually fast, as you get roughly 42 titles each month. Keep in mind that Fakku is SimulPublishing. You get something better than the ones they get in Japan (Being uncensored)

I commission a few tanks. Chip in a few group commissions. Donated to some purchasing of blurays and tanks. Sold a few comiket swag to a dude to rip and scan. Nothing in piracy is free. Someone had to pay for media/translation/scanner. One can be a pirate and still buy shit. My bookshelf is full of books/tanks/fakku books. Hell on I had to buy because the group got C&D before finishing. Funny thing was it was in the fakku store and they didn't even have the book thing yet. 2012.
