Notifications not changing status

When I go to the Notifications page, every single item in it is marked as "New". Previously, when you went to the Notification page, all those "New" items would then be marked as read and the highlight removed. Now, everything is permanently "New" and don't change even if you check out each item individually. This makes it difficult to see which items I've already checked out or not.

Please, look into it when you've got the time and make the Notifications page change the status of each item after we check them out.

Hmmm I was able to fix a few bugs related to notification count, is it working now?

If not, do you mind describing exactly what you're looking for?

Notification count (number on the bell) seems to be working fine.

What was not working was the highlight on the new notifications on the Notifications page.

Previously:
- You would get notifications (number on the bell).
- You would go to the Notifications page.
- New notifications were highlighted, clearly identifying them.
- When you reloaded the page, those highlights would be removed (all notifications would then look the same), and the number on the bell would disappear.

Now:
- You get notifications (number on the bell seems to be accurate).
- Go to the Notifications page.
- All notifications (old and new) are marked as "New", no highlights or anything to differentiate them (no way of knowing which ones are actually new).
- Reload the page, the "New" indication doesn't disappear (all notifications still look the same), the number on the bell disappears as it should.

But I just tested right now and it seems like it might be working. Let me explain: I posted a forum reply and the speech bubble icon (on the Notifications page) for the new forum reply was red (in Dark Mode). After reloading the Notifications page, the red filling disappeared and now it looked like the other "already checked" notifications (as it should). So it seems to be working now at least for new forum replies. I'm not sure about new chapters.

I'll wait and see how it goes when there's a notification for a new chapter. If I encounter any issue, I'll let you know.

It does seem to work, although comment-related notifications now using preview thumbnails as their icons is still making it impossible to see which ones of those specific notifications are new.

I just got a new chapter notification. Thumbnails instead of icons for new chapter notifications seems to be the problem here.

Maybe they should use an icon (like the forum reply notifications) instead, one that would change after you visited and reloaded the Notifications page. Those tiny thumbnails are not useful anyway (too tiny to see anything).

Or highlight the row as it used to be in the old UI.

It's not a perfect fix (and not permanent) but I've made it so the background color will be transparent if you've read the notification, also hidden the notification images until we have a better solution.

Removing the thumbnail of the chapter and using a "book" icon instead (that changes from unread/read when the page is loaded) is much better and works perfectly.
