So I don't know if it was directly cause by Fakku, but while I was browsing, right after the screen went to one of the newer ads that diverts you from the site for a second. my computer was locked by this really annoying ransomware that locked my computer entirely and would only let my screen display this image:

I've spent the last 4 hours or so ridding my computer of it and just wanted to give a heads up to the admins that there might be a malicious site in the new ads, and a heads up to other fakku users to not fall for this scam, and just be aware that it might happen.
EDIT: If it is at all helpful information, my computer was infected about 3-4 hours ago while I was about to start reading Newmanoid CAM Volume 2 Chapter 3

All I have is AdBlock for Chrome.
@GroverCleaveland
How did you get rid of it?
Is it an ad-virus? D:>

Had the EXACT same problem while on Fakku yesterday. I had to restart my computer and keep my wireless turned off or it would completely block my pc seconds later.
After finding out it would take $150 - $200 to have a virus removed at Best Buy or Office Depot I decided to try and fix it myself. I thought that was ridiculous to pay that much for them to remove a virus so I decided to see what I could do.
After some failed attempts to get rid of it I did a system restore and that seems to have gotten rid of the infection. I was lucky because I don't know a lot about computers and if I had to pay to have it fixed that would have really sucked.
I'm going to keep an eye on this thread and hopefully they will post details if and when they find the source of the problem and fix it. Otherwise I'm nervous about reading any manga here.

Hmm... Although I have been busy lately, this appears to be quite a major issue.
I believe the other staff members may have already informed Jacob, but I suppose I could send him another short message.
Hopefully, no one else will be affected.

GroverCleveland,
Thanks for the video. Although I did the system recovery, some of my programs aren't working so I am going to try this out. If anyone else follows the video, they may want to write down the exact address to techspot because when you click on the download button on malwarebytes it now goes to a different page.
EDIT:
Thanks again for posting the video GoverCleveland. It was a big help. The malwarebytes AntiMalware program caught and removed a trojan & malware program from my computer. It did take over 40min to scan so if anyone is planning on using it, you'll have to give it time.
From what I can tell I am able to use all the programs on my computer again so that is a relief.

This is most likely casued by scripts from one of the ads. Just AdBlock may be not enough, get NoScript as well to be safe. I've yet to encounter this myself, but FAKKU urgently need to contact the ad company ASAP to get rid of this bs. I sincerely hope no one falls victim to this scam.
@ZakkWylde
It goes to a different site(most likely cnet) because it's picking the server/site that's most suitable for you, or they were temporarily redirecting to a different download site. Either way, it's safe to assume that the dl site is totally safe as long as you're at the right website(note that some viruses can redirect your search result).
Hopefully, this unfortunate experience will prompt you to start browsing more safely. You definitely should switch to Firefox/Chrome and install addons such as NoScript or AdBlock(preferably both) which will GREATLY reduce the risk of being infected by malware such as this while surfing.
Take note that NO SITE THAT HAS ADS IS SAFE. Even reputable sites is not safe. My computer once got infected by a trojan from Gametrailers website many years ago, the cause being the scripts from one of the ads. Most people won't even realize that they're infected because majority of Anti Viruses are not able to catch trojans that come through ad scripts(I believe).
There's nothing the site can do about it other than reporting this to the ad company and hope that they remove it asap. Therefore, it's best that you take actions yourself to keep your computer(and you) safe.
Also, you do not need to go to places you went to get tech support. There are tons of good forums and communities out there that will help you for free.
NoScript may seem too intrusive and difficult to use at first, but once you get used to it and know how to use it properly, it's no big deal.
Remember, vigilance is the price of safety.

People should really move onto using Linux, or if you want to use Windows use it in a smart way. Hell I have Windows XP running in Virtual Machine environment so I don't worry about anything, but again my Virtual Machine is running on Linux :D
And AD companies should really check who they provide AD space before hand, since I can see some legal problems for them. Since in a way there allowing distributions of malware and drive by downloads
