Regarding Titles, Rights and Reputation.

So you can leave suggestions in this section, right?
Chances are fairly high that some of the following stuff has been discussed/suggested somewhere else, if that's the case - guess what - I haven't seen it, sorry for that.
To start things off, I'll tell you a little bit about my problems with reputation systems.
It has one big flaw, and it's on every reputation-based forum the same, for example:
A: It's red.
B: No, it's blue.
A -reps B over the next 3 days.
Motemote, anyone?
Then again, it has its bright sides - you can reward people that do good stuff with it, so other people can see that this person must be of the awesomeness.
Yeah.
If it wouldn't be for the reputation system I never would have guessed that Raze (Whose reputation counter is currently at 117.*), one of our beloved admins and the leader of the FAKKU-Subs team is an awesome person, really.
That's just an example, the same goes for every guy who claims the Uploader, Scanlator and what title is there else - does it take reputation for you to tell that those people must be some great guys?
And if you want to tell said people how full of awesomeness they are, you can still tell them straight in the face.
Same goes for the opposite, if someone annoys the crap out of me, I'll tell them - and don't hypocritical -rep behind their backs.
It may sound a bit too serious now, but you get the point why I really dislike it.
Then again you can use reputation for certain rights, for example, uploading Flash Games, and the editing of Manga information in the future.
Well, it may sound nice - but I came up with another idea.
But first, to quote Raze:
That's a pretty neat way to keep things clean, but the whole point of this idea is to take work off our admins shoulder, not to add even more by having to deal with dorky dorks.
So let's lay down that banhammer for a second and modify that whole thing about rights a bit - and please correct me (Or just -rep me.) if the following things aren't possible, I'm not too fluent with all the scripting and stuff.
My idea would be to use a more complex flag system regarding the user accounts.
I've seen Raze mentioning various times that they aren't looking for additional Admins and/or Moderators - but what about little helpers?
For example, granting an specific account the right to edit Manga information, or granting an specific account the right to grant another account rights. Whatever.
Now if you want to help with stuff, you just contact the person in charge (May be the admin, one of his "helpers", whatever.) and tell him you want to help with this and that.
May you be an uploader, just a polite person from the forums and/or IRC, or whatever, said person in charge can tell if you can get the job done, and probably grant you the rights.
The whole thing may need a little bit of modification here and there, but you should get the point.
It's not too different from recruiting people into the FAKKU-Subs team and giving them the specific title.
If my suggestions should make it on the site (And hopefully replaces that crappy reputation system.((To be honest, I don't think that's gonna happen, but I still want to say what's on my mind.)) I think it should require various modifications on the site.
But if I'm not mistaken, we have quite some people on FAKKU which are pretty good with all that scripting and stuff (Where are you so I can rep you.) so I believe that shouldn't be a major problem.
At first I wanted to write more, but damn that's already one hell of a long text, so I'll just leave it at that.
And by the way, are there new underlined "clicksor"-ad's on the site or is my system now of the virusez? If first is the case, well, whatever's best for mother FAKKU I guess.
*[size=9]While looking up Raze's reputation, I noticed a little bug:
If you're clicking on the creator from an outdated/minimized news post, it redirects you to the creator from the oldest "active" news post - in this case, If I'm clicking on Raze from "Project Eternal.", it redirects me to tsujoi from "Sayonara Code Geass".[/h]

Yeah I've noticed the clicksor adds too but I've seen them other places so I don't know what to think. I'm especially confused when they disappear (like when I highlighted the word admin). As for rep...I thinks it's kinda nifty though yeah the admins and uploaders and subbers and whatnot don't really need it. The only reason I really care at all is that I think I saw somewhere that you can customize yourself a title or something eventually. I'd like a confirmation on whether or not I remembered that correctly and the amount of rep needed if it's true (also I'd like more rep if it's true too, lol).

For rep, just because we don't "need" it, doesn't mean we don't enjoy it, you know. I'm one of those insecure types, and if someone isn't re-affirming my actions or even rank [I fear loosing my FAKKU scanlator position at times, and constantly evaluate everything around me.] I get irritable as I feel my actions are 'unrewarded' at times. Especially actions that are 10+ hours.
On the topic of a permissions system, I semi-suggested something along those lines, but no-where near as elaborate. I would enjoy seeing a system like that set up. Reputation is a bad meter of how good someone is overall, they may be hard-working but have strong opinions that are frowned upon amongst the entire FAKKU community.
In regards to this, here is my opinion. A permissions system with team leaders is a great idea. However, in the preliminary stages, much testing of code would be done, and then promoting users may be a bit of a task. The idea of a user submitting a few tags and the tags having to wait for editor approval is much better in my books, it relies less on personal feelings towards a user [I HATE THAT FAG, REJECT/DELETE/NOT ACCEPTED FOR POSITION!!!] and more of a "Oh, true, that reflects the manga/doujin perfectly". So perhaps the promotion of a few more intelligent users with not much bias to some sort of approval/edit scheme, rather than a submit to a certain user to get your suggestion added. Plus that relies on availability, whereas a free edit scheme would be gotten to whenever an editor/admin had the time to look over outstanding edits.

Just a quick idea. I think that -reping shouldn't be allowed for more then 1 day in a row. Just so we can stop all those hypothetical people who -rep for 3 days in a row. We should encourage +rep not -rep... right?

I'm a person who likes to be repped, it motivates me to keep doing things to help others. I get lazy if I don't know what people think of the things I do...
so the rep system is a good thing, although still in it's early stages. like you already said it'd be a good idea to use the rep for certain rights, like if you get 10 rep you can get a bigger avatar or who knows what people like to get.
but for that to happen the +rep really needs to be known around the site, especially for the lazy people who go to a share topic, download the stuff and are too lazy to post a message, get them to just +rep if they don't want to post a message
as for the -rep, I hate that thing xD if there's a guy who is spoiling the fun he'll probably be banned anyway, so why use the -rep, and the -rep can also be abused like you said. so maybe a good idea to only let -rep count if more then 2 persons -rep a post.
but a -rep can also be handy, like -5 rep your account will be looked at by an admin, if you get -10 rep you get a 1-month ban, you get -25 rep you're outta here.
