[Request] Oni (鬼) Tag

So, I see there's a "Monster Girl" and a "Succubus" tag but not an "Oni" tag. I count 19 chapters tagged with "Monster Girl" and 13 chapters tagged with "Succubus" currently.

As to the criteria for the Oni tag, I'd say any time a character in the original Japanese text is referred to with the Japanese Kanji character 鬼 would be the main determinant. Secondary criteria would be if any character exhibits characteristics of being an Oni: being a horned ogre or demon like creature in Japan, often times living in a secluded place.

I think the following chapters should have an "Oni" tag added:

Mating with Oni ~Daughter Chapter~ (鬼 is in the title)
Mating with Oni ~Mother Chapter~ (鬼 is in the title)
Ogre Bath (Ogre in the title is the character 鬼 - btw this should also be tagged Monster Girl)
Plump Man (Characters have ogre/demon like characteristics, the horns, and are from Japan, the "ki" in "Miki" and "kiki" is 鬼, and there are lanterns with 鬼)
Hasehime (Hasehime has ogre/demon like characteristics, the horns, lives in a remote cave, and is from Japan)

I realize there's not that many Oni based chapters on FAKKU yet, but that makes tagging them now all the more simple. There's also not too many for Succubus or even Monster Girl but I find those tags helpful nonetheless. I would also find a Demon Girl tag helpful if it could be added. Guess I will look around to see how many chapters fit Demon Girl and request that one once I have an idea, too.

I'd say Hasehime is both a succubus and an Oni based on her very Oni like horn design and living in a remote cave. But I can see it being debatable since it does not explicitly state she's an Oni, too.

I personally think Oni, Monster Girl, and Succubus are kind of a single category, but Fakku does go for a pretty good selection of tags :)

What seems to be the process so far, is to create a public collection of those chapters that you feel qualify for your proposed tag. I saw in another thread, 40+ items will give you a good chance of getting the tag. Best of luck, wish I had gotten a chance to pick up the physical editions of the Mother/Daughter Oni books!

While all Oni and Succubi are Monster Girls, not all Monster Girls are Oni or Succubi, and not all Succubi are Oni. In other words, there exists a taxonomic rank. Monster Girl would be like the "Family" while "Succubus" and "Oni" would be like the "Species", and I'd put "Demon Girl" as the Genus above them. So, having them all be under Monster Girl is fine if you are not particular about what kind. But, if you specifically are looking for a Succubus or an Oni, then having the extra tag helps narrow things down further without having to manually search each chapter with the Monster Girl tag alone. Since there's not even 20 chapters tagged Monster Girl, this should be an easy add in terms of finding the chapters that fit the tag quickly, and it is always best to start a tag before the catalog grows and it takes more work looking through a backlog of chapters. I know it seems fairly trivial, but the tag will help me in terms of quick sorting and searching, and gives that extra bit of excitement when a new chapter with the tag is added, too.

I find there are a lot of tags that could be used that are not currently, which are far more specific than Oni, yet there are others that exist currently with the same level of specificity. So, there's no tag too specific if it is easily enough applied in my view. For example, I don't see a tag for "Horns" or "Tail" but do see "Eyebrows" and "Apron". I think all are fairly easy to label and apply, and similarly feel Oni is as easy to apply as Succubus or Monster Girl.

Considering the Monster Girl tag and Succubus tag don't have many chapters with it currently, I don't see why having one for Oni, despite there not being that many chapters as of now, should not be considered when it is easy enough to apply. From what I can gather, FAKKU used to have all sorts of tags before the unlicensed content was purged, and Jacob said they would all return once a chapter was added that contained them again. While this is true for some of the lost tags, it isn't yet true for some others. In this case, there are clearly legal chapters with Oni up, so I hope it can be considered and applied later if approved.

Shikimaya said they would look to see if they could get more copies from Shindou, but regardless they plan to sell English translated copies in print later. So, you should at least have a chance at those if the limited Japanese copies are not made available once more.

You could try contacting DigitalManga through the kickstarter page, they had a printing issue where some images that were not allowed to be printed ended up in the first print run. They had a book adoption thing, but it might only be allowed for KS backers.

19 chapters for monster girl isn't a lot. Is it really necessary?

When FAKKU first went legit the Monster Girl and Succubus tags were likely not in place due to that content no longer existing on FAKKU at the time. By this same logic, those tags weren't "really necessary" to have as chapters with that content got first added back, either.

For instance, Pregnant and Rimjob tags have 20 chapters atm. The Crossdressing tag, Yuri tagi, and Yandere tag only have 18 atm. The Nurse tag has 17. There are only 15 chapters with the Biting tag as of now. Only 13 chapters with the Chikan tag now and that exists, too. The Miko tag and Muscles tag only have 9 chapters now. Netori tag and Tentacles tag at 8. The Christmas tag only has 7 chapters currently. Pegging tag has 5, right around and maybe less than Oni. The Genderbend tag, Horror tag, Headphones tag all have only 4 chapters as of today, less than Oni. The Nun tag and Yaoi tag only have 3 chapters.

Would you say we don't really need any of the above tags for the same reason? I mean surely we don't need a Yaoi or Nun tag, right? It's not like anyone finds them useful with such low amount of content, right? See, pretty silly reasoning.

Remember, as more content gets added, more chapters that fit the tag will be, too. Just because there are not a lot now, doesn't mean there won't be more later. The tags all exist to help people who like content with them find them faster and easier. Unless the tag is so vague it doesn't really define anything useful, then I think it should be considered. There are some tags FAKKU uses now I think are silly or not all that worthwhile to add, but they must be valuable to someone or they wouldn't have taken the time to add them in the first place.

I understand adding new tags early so that they can develop into larger categories later on. I also don't have a problem with having a tag that has few chapters. All of the tags you mentioned should be there because there's a clear fetish that supports it. They also have nothing in common. What you want to do is to divide an already small category of chapters.

But this is up to the staff to decide whether they want more diluted tags or less larger ones. My suggestion would be to maybe implement sub categories within a large one. So everything that's tagged Demon girl is also tagged monster girl and if you click on the monster girl tag, you'll see all the subcategories as well.

As should Oni, it is its own fetish, too.



Some of the current tags do indeed have things in common. Netorare and Netori have tags, but those fall under the broader tag of Cheating, which is also present. There's also currently a Irrumatio tag, even though that could fall under the Oral tag they have. One could also argue we don't need an Inseki tag since Incest is close enough, but others would disagree since there is a clear difference in the level of relations. The Christmas tag could also easily fall under a Holiday tag, especially if they add a tag for Valentine's Day, White Day, and so on later. I see no problem specifying the particular Holiday because people will search by it in all likelihood.

All tags divide things into categories. That's kind of the entire point of having a tag. That's all this would be doing, specifying a chapter has Oni.



By this logic, FAKKU should not have made a Succubus tag since that can fall under Monster Girl, too. Like Succubus, Oni isn't really a "diluted tag", though. It is its own separate and unique thing, and just happens to also be able to be broadly classified under Demon Girl and Monster Girl above that. Having an Oni tag is no different than using tags like Nurse, Nun, Office Lady, Miko, Loli, Maid, Gyaru, Schoolgirl, and so on to specify the type of girl. It is a simple specific classification.

If anything, the Monster Girl tag is the "diluted tag" since it is pretty broad and vague to begin with because there are many types of them out there. You could similarly have a "Professional Woman" tag which would cover Office Lady and Nurse, but I don't think anyone would want those tags to go away, should one be added, in favor of having less tags with broader, catch all, categories.



Besides the fact FAKKU lacks a Demon Girl tag as of now, which I would also like FAKKU to add since there's more than just Succubi and Oni, this suggestion seems more complicated than is necessary, and would mean more coding and hassle on the team implementing it. Besides, if you are searching specifically for an Oni or Succubus, or any other type of Monster Girl or Demon Girl for that matter, you would typically try typing that specific search term in first and not Monster Girl. Oni having its own tag would yield a search result but it not having one would not turn up anything, unless Oni is in the title. Again, the tags are there to help people find things easier and quicker, so anything that makes it more complicated kind of defeats that purpose.

Did you count the parody chapters with that demon girl who kills people? Its non-h, but demon girl?

The one from here? I would not say it counts toward Oni but it does toward Demon Girl.

She's an example of a Demon Girl who is not a Succubus or Oni, which is why I'd also appreciate that tag being added instead of just sifting through Monster Girl.
