site 503 error

for some reason i keep on getting errors wen i go to the site/fourms and it says the site is down and stuff, is this just me or am i on while u updating the site?

Yeah, I get random 503's too. I'm not sure what the deal is though, as I'm not programming-savvy.

I don't know much about the area that I'm talking about, but wouldn't the following help:
You know how when you rate a manga, for example, its rating stats and placement on the chart updates right that second.
It seems that a lot of things in this site updates almost instantaneously. It's not a bad thing if you look at it from a normal perspective, but how heavily does this impact the site? If it's one of the major things that causes these errors, I suggest that these trivial things refresh every few minutes or hourly.
