Spambot Proposel

I propose that when a nick get several negatives dislike, the admins should look into it or put up a auto script to remove those spambot. also, admins should make it mandortory for any new nick to not only verify their email, but to also verify the PM.
and if it isn't possible, then i guess we should come up with something that require human input?

We'll be adding the email verification very soon, and I might make a captcha appear once a user has more than x amount of negative comments.

I have a ton of downvotes; am I a spambot? It will only kick in if the majority of your votes are negative.

You know people could abuse this very easily to get someone locked out.

yeah, but it can easily be verified. not to mention, it probably require it to be across all comment section and such. if it only in one section, it probably shouldn't take into effect, you know? but if a person has only negative feedback, then it an autoban/kick. i'm tired of seeing something like that on fakku.
and prop to Jacob for working so hard to get fakku working as gud as he can.

I'm not sure it can be easily verified. I don't think it's likely Jacob will implement this as he mostly doesn't trust automatic systems or things based on user control very often(never).

it could at least push it to be an automatic report so a mod can actually look into it a little easier.

That would explain it.
Maybe just having a report function added to comments section would be the best solution when possible.

Would still need some way to deal with them. right now Jake is the only one who can touch them and even if the report function existed we could do nothing but try to reach him every time(pointless 90% of the time).

Wouldn't you at least be able to ban the account associated with the post if it's a spambot?

Yep, I can ban a spambot and that bot can be remade in 5 minutes without any e-mail confirmation... We have no real way to stop spam, but given the ability to remove comments at least we could take out the appearance of spam.

Guess that does make sense. Oh well, let's just wait a year or two and see what happens.
