Subscription to forum pages

I would like to see an option to subscribe to a forum page so that I can view it as soon as a new post is made

We do have the red (for unread posts) and white (read posts) post icons on topics and subforums in order to see this.
I do think we need to have a "mark subforum as read" instead of just the overall mark as read function.

Eh, those don't really work well. Just now, a thread was marked unread in this section, but when I went to it, it was the same as when I'd looked at it a couple of hours ago. And that's a common thing.

zeroxnight, one thing you can do is go to your profile and select "Find all posts by [you]." That will show what threads you've posted in so you can go to them and see if any new posts have been made. It's not the same as a subscription feature, but it is sometimes easier than trying to scour a section for certain threads(particularly Random or IB).

I'm in favor of a subscription feature, if only for the fact that just about every other forum out there has it. And that there is no downside. It can't be too hard a thing to implement.

What about the "Notify me when a reply is posted" check box below the text window on post writing page?

does that only work for the post right after yours? i've never used it.

i guess that does work, the notify me when a reply is posted. But I usually don't post and sometimes i just want to read my favorite ones without having to post

Here's a little suggestion:
It would be nice if you could enable a notification option for new posts in a topic which you didn't create.
I don't know if this is practicable though..

Currently not needed, and you can just check through your "posts" from your profile.
