Subsection "Banners"

Thought it might be nice to have a banner at the top of some of the subsections. Now I am sure that I picked the wrong word by saying banner, but I'll try to explain what I am talking about :)
I think it would give off a nice flair to the forums incase there would be for example a Gfx work about the size of a signature with a Gundam on it at the Mecha section for example, or one with a character from a random anime in the anime section etc.
Might also be fun to make a small contest once a month and to feature the work of the winner in said subsection that it is intended for.

You mean like a header type thing? I get what you're saying and I think that's a pretty good idea. Only maybe it should be a little wider. The only problem I can see is that for some sections, there might be a little trouble coming up with an idea. Although, I'm not going to underestimate the creativity of the Fakkuza.

Though there are tons of things you can come up with on a long day on or off work when you are waiting in a telephone queue, riding the bus while toying around with Photoshop on your laptop etc.

I don't know how I'd feel about a banner there... I mean, we already have the big Fakku banner above it, another type of banner below it might just be overkill.

Or... instead of having those boring headers for each section of the forums, we could have some kind of collage type thing. We could either keep them the same size or widen them slightly, but I think it might work.

The site layout is fine as-is, and more additions to it would leave it feeling cluttered. I have widescreen monitors wherever I go, and I tested out having a banner there [simple on-the-fly editor] and to be honest, I felt bogged down. The site has plenty of aesthetic changes daily, and... I dunno, but it's really not pushing my buttons.
Also, think about the people on low-bandwidth connections [I still know people on dial-up]. They don't want to have to load more images to see the page. If they change daily, then it's going to be a hassle for them. More stuff down the pipe means more time to spend waiting for something to load. Hell, even my internet is slow at times. It also means higher bandwidth fees for Jacob, as each banner will not be 'light' nor will it be sitewide, meaning he wastes an extra few GB a month hosting said images.
Eh. I sound too negative. Ideas are good, I'm just putting a different light on it.
EDIT: In other news, this is my 1337 post.
