[Locked] Tell me if I do something wrong in forums, egg shells galore
0
I didn't know I was walking on eggshells, but a moderator, I don't even know if I should use their username or else I'll get backlash, told me that I was making topics in the wrong section and that I was warned already about this. Please don't move this topic, it should count as feedback and support. So please bear with me.
1. There were no previous mentions by mods or by the community except for animefreak_usa that I should post under Fakku Books but that was before I bought a book and didn't have access to that section yet. I don't even know if I should have posted that username, there's too many eggshells.
2. My topics were moved. I'm not saying this is bad, but if my topics are moved without any notifications or messages for me then how am I supposed to learn from my mistakes?? I couldn't even tell because it doesn't say "Topic moved..." or anything on my profile or in the forums.
3. The vague threat of "I won't warn you again" is completely unnecessary and unfounded. Was it supposed to be funny or a reference to something? Do mods have to talk like villains from the 80s to get their rocks off? You didn't tell me a first time. Also, why does it have to be vague? You're a mod, tell me what happens as a consequence instead of acting like a 4chan mod who does it for free.
4. Yes, I see that I posted in the wrong topic now by looking through my previous topics that were moved. I'll take prejudice in choosing which topic I should post in, but I don't know if that'll work because my topic will just be moved to Random or Visual Novels or entertainment or Computers and Technology or in feedback. No ones ever heard of overlap before.
Hopefully, this topic doesn't get locked by (sic) because I'm trying to have an honest discussion. No bad feelings, I'm not even mad. But lowering the figurative gun from my head would be nice.

First, let me welcome you to the first year at Fakku Forums. Here's a few things you need to know:
1. Anything stickied at the top, read it, it's helpful (although long, but it's expected of you to know about it to be a abled member of the forums)
2. Scan through the forums (lurking), it is advised that new members do so in order to be able to fit in smoothly without making a ruckus of the forums.
3. Learn how to operate the features of Fakku! like My Account, Settings, Messages. It will make things very easy for you.
4. Tracking threads is easy and DIY, not need for uneccessary notifications (as I said, learn the rope, it's a forum, not a shop, think of it like a club)
5. Meet Tegumi, she hosts the SD forums and is serious about making it a temple of Philosophic Shang-rila! *cues halo*
6. Since you are relatively new, they need to warn you early, and from the looks of it, you haven't been interpreting the rules correctly (Or have you read it at all?)

Ok, fresh off reading your previous topics, and I have two off-topic advice for you. 1. Suggesstion to change: OK; Suggestion to remove: you're treading a fine-line; Complaints: nope, it will always comes off as whining, nothing can change the way it's recieved. 2. Not everything is going to suit you and your comfort, learn to compromise, learn to respect other's comfort.
Now, you also need to know whether to make a thread or just ask someone through messages. (Usually if you only need answers, message a mod.)
As I said, go explore around, tentatively, this time around.

Mai response.
1. If it's long it's fine but there are so many.. it's like reading several types of iTunes ToS...
2. So many topics I wouldn't know where to begin. T.T
3. I'm familiar with the features. Hmm.. you guys should have automated messages for moving topics and warnings just as a little heads up. Heck, even an automated message for buying a Fakku Book or any other product would be nice. :P
4. I track my threads from my posts, but I don't know how to track other peoples threads that I haven't posted within when there are new threads added every day. Subscribe? :p
5. Tegumi's curt forum post may prevent any good feelings. If it wasn't a serious discussion she could have made it one which is difficult since if she is as philosophical as you say she is then maybe serious discussions doesn't exist.
6. Yeah, I didn't read the stickied rules. I didn't think I'd have to as my latest topics shouldn't have been anything close to controversial.

Could you be more specific? The last 4 topics really weren't mean't as off-topic. Prior to those topics yeah I'd understand then.
Suggestion to remove? Ah, I think you're referencing the Japanese only hentai. I don't want them removed, just translated or give them their own tag, to-be-translated or "Raw" section. I'd pay not to see them, not for their removal. I don't want to have to learn Japanese to prevent missing out on daily uploaded front page content.
I can't complain here? That's what most forums are for though. If suggestions count as complaints then just call me a crabby granny. :(
I haven't met much compromise, looks pretty one sided to me most of the time.

Oops, took the bait, sorry Sneeaky, I was not ready. Hah, no wonder why Jacob left one line of "Imma get the hell outta here" response.
Learn to listen, to consider, to take in an advice. Your last 4 topics were those you could have just asked Jake, or Waar, or Kaimax, or Tegumi, or just a senior user in a message, not a thread.
If you can't fit in with a crowd, don't try to join them in the first place. If you want things to be a certain way around here, sorry, can't give you that, we have our own little comfort zone we like to be in too.
I find it tedious to repeat myself, so that's all I'm going to give you. Take it or leave it. The stuff in your response could have been said to yourself instead of me.

Oh, it's bait? Nice little ad hominem there. I thought we were having a conversation. I guess I should message people I've never had contact with before instead of casting a wide net when gauging how people feel in a forum. I posted topics because I wanted the opinions of more than 4 people. I don't know the personal interests four people you mentioned when I made the topics.
You decry compromise, but then say "don't touch my comfort zone" which is contradictory when having a conversation. The echo chamber "crowd" works well with that type of ad populum mentality, but it's not healthy for conversation. I'm sorry we don't hold the same likes and interests. I'm not sorry that I can ask questions to more than four people.
I'm responding to your replies because I want to understand more about the fakku forums. The ad hominems are unnecessary. Should I ignore your advice and not reply when I have follow up questions? Are topics supposed to have 3 comments in them? This doesn't make sense. This isn't a problem for the majority of forums that exist.
I'm sorry that having a conversation is tedious for you, it's rather counter-intuitive in a forum space. Just remember that I read what you wrote, wrote a response and want to see what you say. I'm not here to waste your time because I'd be wasting my time too unfortunately.

You didn't listen, I'd put it at that.
You're smart, smart enough to annoy people, not smart enough to realized what I said when I said "we have little comfort zones too you know"
I'd say it again, I gave you the advice, if you have questions, ask them, if you want to rebute, I can't care less to defend my attempt at helping you. If you still wanna do it your way, not gonna bother me a bone.
As I put it in a way to make you feel smarter, it's hard to tell you anything because you're not listening.
I'm going to say this again, it doesn't matter what you think, it's what you can think of.
Edit: Hah, people's opinions on a topic that doesn't even concern those people, just hah...
Ok, one more advice, arguing is fun, arguing for the sake of arguing is not everyone's cup of tea. Also, start a conversation with someone who wants a conversation, not the guy you've just asked for directions to something.
