Uploads section

It would be nice if there was a topic in there saying how it actually works, there are 2 mangas missing on the series I am reading and I wanted to upload them here, but I haven't found anything about how exactly it works (if the staff will put them on the site after you post it or what, and although you can follow what others are doing, there isn't a list saying how you should post them).

There is nothing about why there are two different upload topics in the manga section either, or why there are those in the first place if you can create a new thread.

And if there is somewhere saying this, I'm sorry, but its not somewhere very intuitive.

And megaupload is still in the list of filehosts in the 81 thread.

Just use a hosting site to upload those files.
And then make a thread and post the links.

But none of them answer those questions! I obviously figured as much, but there is no sticky saying how exactly it works. Please, read my post again.

You could make one and request it be stickied. Right now we're down a mod for the uploads section so unless someone knows how or I take the time to learn myself it most likely wont happen soon.

Yeah, that's a good idea, and I would do it, but I don't really know the answer to those questions myself, so I'd appreciate if any of you told me.

Err no, you seemed to be interested in how to upload things to the uploads section right? Right now we don't allow users to upload things to Fakku's servers, only our uploaders forums. As far as that's concerned I'm unsure as well because I've never uploaded anything to the forum, I assume it used to be done through Megaupload so I don't know which hosting sites to use now either.

How to post it is kinda obvious, and said in one of the stickies, but do mods upload them to the site later? Or is it just for us to search that section? Why are there two stickies for posting if you can start a new thread? And why two? What's the difference between them? It also says "follow the format we use", but it doesn't say what that format is, either (this one you can sort of see from the posts, but it would be better to say what it is).

OK, I think I'm understanding finally what you're trying to ask, and I may be able to properly answer your questions.

Basically, the User Uploads section is exactly what it sounds like: users upload visual novels, flash games and manga/doujinshi to upload sites like Mediafire, and share the link, and hence the collection, with the users of Fakku. The links they post are their own responsibility, and Fakku will not consider taking a doujin from there to upload to the main reader online (if a doujin from User Uploads does seem to get uploaded to the main site, it's purely coincidental).

This section, I assume, was made because everyone knows Fakku is quote slow with updates in the doujin world (probably because it can't show ALL types of doujins, due to the loli-shota-guro ban). This is so that, as long as they comply with the rules, users can upload their own collection and share with others, to help a fellow hentai, so to speak. This section is now even more of a godsend, considering Fakku's main doujin and manga DL links are down.

I'm afraid that, yes, there could be clearer instructions on how to make a good upload thread, but in the time I've been a user of the site, I've learned to follow by example. Here are, what I consider, two of the best upload threads in the Manga and Doujinshi section. Shouldn't be too hard to understand how it works, once you realize you can come back to edit any post of yours at any time.

SOMEONE MAKE A THREAD EXPLAINING THIS SO I CAN STIKY IT... People used to just at the chance to show how useful one was to this site, what happened?

Its not very nice to search the forums for manga/doujin as it is to browse the manga/doujin sections, in fact seems it can be very troublesome if you're looking for a specific genre.

If they won't get uploaded, it would be nice if there was something like a masterlist thread (or threads) listing what has been posted, but that would be a lot of work.

But why they don't get uploaded, anyways?

A number of reasons:

1)Content: We ban some genres on Fakku, this site is more on the vanilla scale of the hentai world.

2)Sources: Rarely people ask us not to upload their work and we do sometimes attempt to comply. This does not happen often.

3)Uploaders: Of the people who upload to Fakku most of the work is done by scan teams, there are only a handful of unassociated uploaders who can/do grab other people work and upload it on the site(myself included). We could give this privilege to more people but it requires trust, something in short supply here on Fakku.

4)Time: The few of us who can upload don't do it often as we have other responsibilities. I already spend too much time on Fakku as it is.

I have suggested users pm me in the past with links of manga they feel would be really good on Fakku but rarely does anyone make an effort, especially because I don't offer much of a reward(no rep).

With the shutting down of Megaupload, a lot of uploading sites have taken precautions, in order to avoid the same fate. At the moment, I believe it might be difficult to determine good uploading sites.

Nonetheless, we are still against the idea of uploaders posting links for the sake of earning a profit.

In my personal and perhaps naive opinion, upload links should only be created if the various thread starters sincerely wish to share their hentai material with others. I believe I have created a couple of topics in the Uploads section previously.

In addition, the stickies on how to create topics provide a guideline on how to do so. If you are feeling creative, feel free to come up with your own personal format, as long as it is coherent and does not break any rules. For all you know, others may soon follow in the footsteps of your format. :)
