What's the difference between the Manga and Doujinshi sectio

True, that. Only noticed now, heh.
I'm told I'm a long-winded poster, so short answer first:
Short Answer:
H-Manga = Porn Manga, usually professionally published by chapter in anthology comics (ala MEGAPLUS) and compiled in volumized "manga-ban" releases and sold in stores.
H-doujinshi = subset of H-manga, self-published amateur works. Usually parodies of existing franchises, but can be original too. Also sold in stores and online, but usually not at first. Most common at artist conventions like Comiket etc.
Anyway, technically speaking "doujinshi" refers to "self-published" manga, usually written by amateur circles.
A "doujin" is the creator of this sort of work. "Self-published" is basically anything that's not an official deal with a big outfit like COMIC AUN or MEGAPLUS. This is what you buy at Comiket, Comic1, Sunshine Creators, and on the fourth floor of the Akihabara Toranoana branch. Quality runs the range from uninked sketches hand-duplicated by a public-library xerox machine to full-color glossy productions, though the former is obviously more common than the latter.
Being a "doujin" is usually the quickest path to becoming a pro in the Japanese manga scene. Love Hina's Akamatsu Ken was a doujin artist before breaking out, among others.
Mind you not all doujinshi are porn, though this is the common assumption made by the English-speaking crowd (and we also use "doujin" rather than "doujinshi").
"Doujin" works also extend to animation and games as well. It's basically any kind of fan or amateur effort. TYPE-MOON's "Tsukihime" was originally a doujin game, and the doujin fighting game of THAT doujin game, "Melty Blood" was also tapped for console and arcade release.
The doujinshi scene isn't as strong among Western comic artists because of stronger protections on copyrights. Companies are usually inclined to C&D (cease & desist) people drawing rape-comics of their icons because non-prevention is usually taken in the courts as tacit approval. In Japan this improves sales overall and grants big-time exposure to a lot of artists that can be hired to make commercial work.

Shorter answer: Doujinshi is based off of anime / mangathe manga are stand alone hentai
Shorter, but not correct. The term is from the method of publication. Doujinshi can be original stories, and not all are porn.

i always thought that manga are simply comics and doujinshi is manga that is self-published as opposed to being published by a company
so the definition of manga isn't limited to material being published by a company

In the west, we've come to accept Doujinshi as parody hentai manga. Original, fictional, works are classified as hentai. No exceptions. The reason being? We're foreigners and alien from the Japanese Pop culture and have created our own off-shoot society by taking what we love from that culture:Games, J-Pop, J-drama, manga, hentai, anime, models and figurines or what have you. So the accurate definition, because we can't ever be Japanese, is the "shorter answer".

hardcore non-Japanese anime otaku nerds have it really hard then
i could imagine one debating about it up to the point they get banned for flaming at every forum of non-Japanese h-sites
a better classification for the materials would be "English/English-Translated Manga" and "Japanese Manga" rather than Manga and Doujinshi
although there's a sort by language function...
