Worry about Visa and Master Card

1
Visa and Master Card can't be used at DLSite and many hentai sites due to their new policy.

I'm worried about Fakku in the future.

I want to keep my subscription as long as possible, but if Visa and Master Card can't be used in the future, I still don't have any idea.

Does Fakku team consider the new choice of payment?

fakku had paypal as well as a third payment option (i think it was bitcoin) available until both bailed and it changed to credit card only in like ~ 2015/16

but just like you said, first i lost access to dmm/fanza in 2022, and then to dl site in november last year. i can't even legally buy doujinshi anymore - at least digitally. stores like melonbooks sell both physical and digital versions, but ONLY physical ones are available for foreigners :'(

and i also fear that fakku has to give in to pressure from credit card companies if this oppressive bullshit reaches the us as well.

It has legitimately been going Scorched Earth all over the internet in the past 2 weeks, targeting both digital adult content abroad and local.

I really, REALLY hope there is some payment alternative that debuts for FAKKU soon, because this seems to be targeting any digital site on the map here.

well, it's nice if it was only in the last two weeks for you. like i said, i can't buy from dmm for TWO YEARS now and FIVE MONTHS for dl site.

DLsite at least has a workaround for now. You can buy points to use for DLSite purchases from Tokyo Otaku Mode, and since they are mainly an anime/figurine shop, they should be unaffected by any stricter policies from CC companies and paypal.

Fakku and other sites might need to follow suit and start offering some sort of alternative currency that can be bought from other SFW storefronts as a fallback.

i remember that i had to buy convenience store points (or whatever they're called in japan) from play asia to buy certain goods in japan since they wouldn't accept credit cards, paypal or whatever. this crap cost like 30 % (!!) extra. dunno if that's really worth it on fakku lol

Give in? They run a hentai site. What's gonna happen, they don't sell it anymore?

Cause the only thing I can think of is they either don't sell hentai on a hentai selling site...

or they censor it and no one comes to buy censored hentai when they would otherwise sail the seven seas.

I'm not a fan of these barbaric credit card companies having a NTR fetish with our freedoms, but I just don't know what Fakku would do other than having no valid options. Unless I am unaware and someone could inform me?

Either way its a crappy situation we live in 1984.

they will simply refuse to process any payments - just like what happened with paypal. for the first year or two i paid my fakku subscription (when i was still subscribed) with paypal and then one day it simply said "your payment cannot be processed" or something. both visa or mastercard can simply pull the plug in a similar fashion whenever they feel like it.

I think it's more likely that the credit card companies would aim to dictate what Fakku (and other sites) could sell rather then push for mosaics or whiteout.

For example, I think most of the "controversial tags" would be the issue, probably the horror tag as well. Generally push things in a vanilla direction or something to that effect.

Well yeah, that was what I was thinking would likely be the case. I just assumed that those evil censorship cult members would want a full ban. Because they hate freedom and all that. Though lets be real Fakku is French Vanilla bean when it comes to ice cream flavors. They barely scratch the surface when it comes to kinks. Which is all the more reason why them attempting to stop the few flavor tags is even more ridiculous.

As for the other poster explaining that they would simply stop working and stop processing the payments. Yes, I understand that part. I've been keeping up online with other sites and other adult or adult-adjacent bull shit with payment processors Victorian/puritan/draconian bullshit.

But yeah, fucking Karen's shitting on peoples ability to express themselves and enjoy art in various forms is always fun.
