Buying Doujinshi Online
-2
Hey Everyone,
I came across this site a while ago, have used it, and didn't see it posted on the forums so I thought I would share... If you're looking to buy (legally) some doujinshi, they are used, but perfect!, this is a great site: Nagomi
No, I'm not affiliated with it and, no, I don't get any kind of rewards/credits/discounts for someone using that link. Just wanted to share :)
The website layout is a little different that what we would use here in the USA. The link i provided is to the "English" version. On the lower right you'll see a giant list of links... they range from tags to series and such. Clicking a link pre-populates a search for you. Remember, all searches are in Japanese, so searching an english term won't work.
When you are looking at a search result page below each item, in order you'll see:
1. Quality of actual book - they have "great/good/acceptable" (note this is the japanese meaning of these terms. I have found them all to be perfect (and clean!))
2. Price
3. Buy button
4. Circle
5. Author
6. Series
7. "item category"
8. Size / Pages (note size is in the A4/B5 style - google it)
If you click on any of the 4-6 it will launch a search with that (so by author/series/circle etc). This feature really helps if you can't seem to find the specifics you're looking for. In your cart you'll see the name of the doujinshi and then "_[Letter]" so name_A name_C etc. The A/B/C represent the quality of that book.
Lastly, the big question: shipping costs. they are reasonable, but high. Basically, you add the items you want to cart, do a checkout process, then they email you with the weight of all the books and the associated shipping costs. They then provide you with a link to pay. For example, I bought 4 doujinshi ($28) and shipping was 675 grams for $25. As I said it's done by weight and there is a range (Range), so it might make sense to add or remove an item to make sure you maximize shipping. So in my example it was $53 for 4 items shipped. For me it was my first time and I could have gotten 1-2 more books for the same shipping cost (lesson learned). All arrived in perfect condition within 2 weeks. Considering at cons these books range from $15-$25 a piece, I found it worthwhile.
Here is the site "User Guide." And lastly, don't forget about Credit Card foreign transaction fee's. Use a card without them!
Hope it helps, happy shopping and feel free to ask me any questions.

Another site I know for doujinshis is Akibadaisuki.
He marks up his prices but he take requests if you search something.
It's all new, too.
I used his services once to get a Saya No Uta doujin.
There is also Japan's Door who is based in France.
Prices are marked up too.
I still got to buy futabu 5 from them.

cool beans... Yeah, mine have all been "clean and free" of such additions (read: stains).
Good to know sites that sell new, but can't beat getting most items for <$10. I like the request idea though, Nagomi explicitly says they don't.
Also not sure why I was negative rep'd, but such is life I guess.

I don't think there was anything wrong with what you posted, sometimes you'll just be downvoted for no apparent reason. It's unfortunate, but that's just how things are sometimes.

Also forgot to mention Mandarake but it's limited, sometimes used.
Prices are correct sometimes marked up.
They are very picky on quality so they'll never sell something that's too damaged, so when damages are signified it tend to be minor.
And everyone knows Mandarake anyway.
Used their services for my Futabu doujin collection.
