Complaining and complimenting? Idk, well im staying here :P

Hi, so one of my insanely few posts as im just a lurker for the most part even though I have basically read every single piece uploaded to this site over the past 3 years. Created an account only last year some time with the sub thing and books.
So currently its basically sub only, I dont like it but well i like it. Im in game dev, and trust me it hurts seeing your stuff going onto torrent sites with thousands of downloads while you contemplate who you should apply to for a job due to lack of sales :P It hurts like hell. But I also dont like the lack of variety, I know its bound to pickup but the choices that were made and which artists were taken on was done incorrectly. The goal should of been to get a variety before going full out and removing scans, the lack of interesting content which to me is the odd change like seeing 3 chaps of a yuri that isnt entirely hentai its majorly vanilla but with hentai foundations. The doujin and scanlations that were different to the rest often kept me here and now its gone. So yea... downer but eh. What ya gonna do.
So yea I might be the only one but im really in the middle of this, I have canceled and started my subscription 3 times now over the past few months and I keep coming back to just subbing again as there is good content here it just means I have to go to another site for the things that are slightly different or a change up to the serious run of the mill. I mean take the last 20 uploads and it can pretty much be narrowed into 3 different types of likes in terms of hentai.
Anyways, enough complaining from me. Call me a nut or not doesnt really matter, just felt like saying something :P

Without removing the scans... would anyone work with us? Would you work with people who were giving your stuff for free anyone when you never getting a dime? Same with this situation. We need to remove the scans before getting more artists to commit with us. The lack of variety isn't the site fault when it only has access to one companies book library and two magazines content. Jacob already working on new books with new genres. Plus new mags with in the wani family(rumors mostly). But if your only source of entertainment is abc family you're not gonna get a lot of other subject matter if any toward the darker side of the fap. Going to take time to get more yaoi/trap/loli/monster girl/rape/ that shit that gets freaky's barb cock hard enough. It's not the only game in town.

I actually really appreciate you, as a creator, bringing your perspective to this matter. Especially with the tone surrounding the entire matter.
On my own end, I'm actually going to try and drag myself to the forums more often. I really appreciate what Fakku has done for me, and see this as a great opportunity to refresh the community as the content becomes more focused.
It's likely to be the death of the forums too, but we'll see where this goes over the next month or so.
Alternately, Loner is working on a similar project. I don't remember the name off the top of my head. Box-something.

Yea the death of the forums is a big one, and I think someone has already shared some info on that showing how much less activity there is.
But yea things are bound to get better if they more artists are brought on and a larger variety is achieved. But currently the site must look pretty bad to new people looking at it, everything is locked behind a paywall currently although i heard there was plans from Jacob for a free trial or something so people could check some content first.
@animefreak_usa Yea I thought about that a bit after, but they were able to land quite a bit before the time so i just went from that which was i guess not the best idea.
Well hopefully we will be seeing a bunch more soon and perhaps a more solid upload pace.
WITH YURI! I so badly want some yuri right now. >_>

You are never the only one and you should never assume that either.
Although I have made small games and am really into ludology and game design I don't consider myself a "game dev" but I know where you're coming from. Although personally I've never felt like piracy was ever a big problem unless one is delusional enough to believe 1 download = 1 lost sale or product stolen.
There other reasons why I wouldn't mind, like for example if I didn't localize the product for the people pirating in a certain region. They're not my market audience, stupid to complain when someone with the desire picks it up and changes it for their region/country and their native tongue.

Ye' i get ya, but yea its retarded to look at 1 download as 1 lost sale but say looking at it from a 1 to 10 ratio its still pretty big working it backwards.
Like 10'000 total downloads = 1000 lost possible sales which is 7.5$ profit around about which is like 3 months of living expenses in my country so its just a bit of a knocker sometimes so the clamp down on piracy really is appreciated from me in one sense but as you said some people pick it up and translate it but alot of pieces now are coming from bilingual authors that have teams to do two versions and sell both but scans of the english versions get put up.
But besides that alot of people now dont have any access to the stuff at all which is a big bummer, alot of people even though they want to pay for it and can afford it just cant due to being in certain countries or say having a debit card vs's a credit card as the norm in alot of countries. Although some debit cards can be used for online purchases. Its still a problem either way i guess.
But eh, things are going smoothly for now so i guess ill just see it out. Yesterdays "Good Stride" was nice afterall :D

Eh, 10,000 downloads is still zero lost sales technically, unless they're downloading from your server. There's no real way to gauge exactly how much more (or less) you'd sell if they only had the option of buying or never seeing/experiencing it.
