Doujinshi Conventions?

So, this may have been asked elsewhere, but I'm doing this from my phone and don't want to spend an hour laboriously looking through topics.

My question is thus: The conventions that give physical form to the desires of our heart (aka doujins), when do they happen? I think that there are two conventions, comiket and comic1* , correct? I looked in the uploads section, but their respective threads don't give exact dates, of tell me when the next one will be.

The reason I ask is because I watched nisemonogatari and fell in love with it. I fully expected there to be an explosion of new doujins coming from its sexually charged content, but I've been underwhelmed. I keep checking the user uploads section and doing searches at e-hentai galleries, the two places I've found to give the most up-to-date results, but I've found little.

My conclusion is that they haven't been made yet - thus my question - or it hasn't caught on, which would be dissapointing.

If this was answered clearly elsewhere and I'm being an idiot, feel free to mock me - but at least do me the courtesy of pointing me where to look.
